Living Wage

Heard that Henry Ford paid his employees twice what other Auto Mfg. paid and still made huge profits. He was able to retain good employees after they were trained. He stimulated the economy. Now the employees were able to buy more goods and services and more people could buy cars.

Costco pays their employees a living wage and they too have stimulated the economy (in their area) and still make a good profit.

See a pattern yet?

This is the model we should be aiming for; not low wages with no benefits and no welfare.

Which would you want for yourself and your kids?

GOP wants to allow high skill immigrants to come in. Saw how low non-skill wages went; I guess hoping for the same with Middle Class jobs. Think about it!(Don't understand it; if you don't have formal training, they don't have to pay you a living wage even if you have the skill - crazy.)

Money, like oil in an engine, needs to circulate or the engine/economy will freeze up. Common sense/simple math.

Retailers report strong gains for June

If you click on link, you will see Costco in the picture.

Proof positive.

Living wages means 'GOOD BUSINESS" and great for the economy. Living wages means more customers!

Support those Reps (Leg/Congress) that support living wages. You will be supporting your future!

House Dem: Documents show IRS probe was flawed

Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., released documents that also seemed to indicate that progressive groups seeking tax-exempt status were to be handled the same way as conservative organizations. While it has been known that the term "progressive" appeared on a list that IRS screeners used, it has been unclear whether liberal organizations received the same close scrutiny as conservative groups.

"There was no indication that pulling these selected applications was politically motivated," the May email from the top investigator said.

I agree, but would go one further. We need to get rid of 'tax free status'. We have a huge debt we need to pay; now that we are back on track.

I think most would agree that there is too much money in politics and not enough money spent on the infrastructure, education and healthcare. We need to re-align our priorities.

With the 1% spending so much money in politics, it is a prime opportunity for the money to be taxed; don't you think?

There is one obvious sign that the banking industry rules Congress.

While the Wallstreet bankers take homes millions each year (equity firms don't pay payroll taxes and you do 'FICA'), you DON'T EARN 1% on your SAVINGS accounts! Your money works for them, not you!

Think about who you support! They are using you and laughing at you all the way to the Wallstreet banks and their new highly paid Lobbyist jobs!

Yes, i agree with you....additionally i would like an investigation into the integrity of media and our own government concerning their behavior during this Zimmerman case....including DOJ and any tax-free racial organizations.....

The only truths you see are from liberal rags. The story did not originate from Fox News.

Obama Takes Over White House Press Briefing To Speak On Trayvon Martin (VIDEO)

After reading this, you still say that POTUS's past experiences 'as a black man' makes him racist, really? I think, like all of us, he is entitled to his opinion too.

He made a very good point, Black people see this case and verdict differently than most white people. I agree with the verdict.

From what I heard and read, it was two volatile personalities (both of color) that met up that night and Trayvon being young/taller had the upper hand until the gun came out. I don't for a minute think that George Zimmerman went out there thinking he was going to kill someone, but that gun gave him the courage he may not have had otherwise to follow Trayvon. That is what I think is the issue. Reports indicated that Trayvon had a recent history of fighting with others in the weeks leading up to this.

The whole thing is a shame and we, as a civilized nation, can do better.

Going forward, Neighborhood watch patrols must wear uniform vests with badges. Must have rules about guns. All residents and guests must be informed and have a picture of all patrol people. Keep in mind, the whole gated neighborhood was aware of the break-ins. Trayvon, as a guest, should have been made aware of the situation too.

I happen to agree with the 'stand your ground' reversal. It was meant for a fair fight where all parties had a gun (you cannot outrun a bullet); not someone carrying a concealed weapon.

I though he was honest, about how this incident is seen through the eye's of black Americans.....But, when he said it could have been him, 35 years ago....i thought....Geezzz...would he have really savagely attack the neighborhood watch guy?????

The thing is, the people who are against the verdict, don't think Trayvon attacked George. They think George profiled/attacked him, think that Trayvon screamed for help and then George shot him. They see Trayvon as this completely innocent child victim whose only crime was being black on that sidewalk that night.

I think that, with Trayvon's recent fighting/drug history, he attacked George. He had the upper hand until the gun came out. I only wish that the girl he was talking to on the phone would have told the 100% truth.

Here's the thing, with so many break-ins, what was the profile of the suspect(s)? If it was young black men, then that is what they were looking out for. Right? No one talks about this, Why?

I think it was a senseless loss of life, but agree with the verdict. At 17, Trayvon would more likely be considered a young man who should have known better, rather than an innocent child.

I still think it is more about the 'stand your ground' law.

If people don't see it for what actually happened, CANNOT fix it for the future. It WILL happen again and again.

One other point.

In a crime area, wouldn't you want to carry a gun if you are patrolling?

I just don't think it should have been concealed.

Vest, badge and visible gun (if allowed to carry on patrol). Most of all, inform the neighborhood.
