So unimpressed with Weatherford

Not the city but this forum in which people from the city are participating. After reading thru many of the post there seems to be a real issue with a few people's obsession with a woman who ran for office. Not one thread from Weatherford has gone without mention of Tawni Maughan. She must really be a serious threat to the city government.
I don't know about the rest of you but I think its pretty awful when a person stands up for the rights of the people and then those in govt who are violators of rights attack them. Don't you?
What is the Constitution if it is not upheld, especially by local govt?
Good luck Weatherford, you are being led by Liberals who are very liberally spending your money on projects they are gaining financially from.

Sorry Tani, we'll try to keep our comments to the title of the forum thread. As far as your headline for this one:
The feeling is mutual.

Yes, the city feels real scared by a woman who lost the election by 70%. Twice.

What you may or may not know (betting you do) is that most of the topics here are STARTED by Maughan and contain some outlandish fabricated lie. She does this in an attempt to "rally the people" behind her.
What has happened though is people have seen through her shallowness and are beginning to understand her method of deception and have no issue calling her out on it.
That's why you see her name so much.

The few real issuesf concern are not discussed because the losers in last election still can't focus on real idea sand issues only personalities and allegations without ever producing proof children on playground act better

Now this is interesting. Wonder why the participants in the last city election are still being blamed for the exposure the current city council are receiving about their small off color deals and intrigues. This behavior by several old timers on the council is certianly nothing new or much a surprise to a lot of folks who have been following civic matters for decades. The same old crew using the same old tatics are still holding court at the city. A few faces change but basicly not much else. Most of the folks in town are more concerned with how they will pay the ever rising taxes and utility rates and living in dread of what else the old gang will hang around our necks and try to convince us all is wonderful in fairy land. We are going to have some killer parks and expensive projects that will generate a lot of loot for someone it just won't be a plus for those of us who really pay the freight. The sad sad joke will be that it still won't generate any more tourism or inflx of money for our hurting small local businesses. They will be kicked aside as usual in the rush to grab the bucks from out of town big box boring stores. Go anywhere up and down all the freeways and you will hardly be able to tell the difference between towns. Ho Hum! There has been a recent purchase of property by the city of a privately owned lot on First Monday Grounds to the tune of $800,000. The curious question is "Where did the funds for that come from?" Not a word of public notice or anything else before public funds were spent by the current administration. Just remember, any funds at the city whether from utility funds, general funds or any other money pot are bottom line public funds. Not amount of creative bookeeping can deny that when the source of the funds is public. That money belongs to the citizens of Weatherford and must be spent by the rules not some paper whipped scheme to disguise the source of it. Aren't a lot of folks tired of being flim flamed by the stuffed shirts and skirts at the city?

You are the only one screaming "off color deals and intrigues." Don't really know what that means because you just make up a headline then run behind the bushes giggling at your little trick. I guess by your reasoning the city should tell the national chains( that are generating the majority of the property tax revenues) to close up and move somewhere else because we don't want to look like "other towns.'
What a maroon.
