From the City of Houston, Texas City Charter, Art VII-City Council, Sec 3, Par 2

"For All meetings of the Council and of all committees thereof shall be open to the public and the rules of the Council shall provide that citizens of the city shall have a reasonable opportunity to be heard at any such meetings in regard to any matter to be considered,"

Why does the Weatherford City Council need to have Closed/Exective Sessions? We the residents/taxpayers have a interest in ALL city business.
Why in Weatherford City Council work sessions is it only the people who the council members want the council hear allowed to make comments?
And I know what Texas read, but they ar the min that need to be carried out, Not a dicitate of what can be done.

p s To all you who need to check for youself, the Houston, Texas City Charter is on line.
P P S their are some other items of the Houston City Charter that you might find very interesting and might just show up as resident/voter inspired Weatherford City Charteer amandemnts.

Houston, represented in Congress by Sheila Jackson Lee. Yes, let's follow Houston's lead. <BARF>
I may not like her as I do not like Obama, but she and he are properly elected, and unitl they are impeached of sever their terms out and NOT elected we must put up with them.
NOW< Let's get on with the business of Weatherford"

I do not want Weatherford to follow the lead of any city that is represented in Congress by the likes of a Sheila Jackson Lee.
What does this have to do with the price of tea in China?

I see the need for consultation with attorney on contracts and real estate in closed session.
I will vote against any amendment proposing to make city council and committee meetings into marathon all night arguments about the price of asphalt.

And now the real reason. Really do not want the residents of Weatherford to know what they are thinking and do not want to work at being an elected official.
Clarance you would vote against anything without thinking helpful, just like Craig Swancy.

No, I have, unlike you, bought property in my lifetime. You don't buy an ad in the paper telling the seller what your bottom dollar is going to be.
It's called negotiation.
Your daddy does it for you so you don't know.
All "normal" boards use executive session. Don't tell me what New Orleans or Chicago does.
I don't give a rip.
If you had ever really owned or managed a real business you would understand. But you are like roaches, whatever they don't eat they walk all over and mess up.
