It's good to know that the FDA has already taken an action regarding this issue. It's actually daunting to know that patients who have had these medical devices implanted for relief are faced with the possibility of serious injuries and even death. I came across some articles at http://www.bladderslingrecall.us/ that have detailed information about bladder sling implants and the complications they have been reported to cause. They may be of great help to people concerned and interested.

Helen, I had a ventral hernia also... had it for two years after an LSH hysterectomy...on right side. finally went in for repair.. He cut on opposite side instead of going over top the hernia. two week post op dr. felt it I screamed and cried like a baby.. It hurt sooo bad...It still hurts.. Hard to bend over, cant wearjeans or tight around waist.. or to go to the bathroom. He said he would make it right if I was still hurting. He won't even call in an xray or ct scan.. What is it that will tell what is going on? He did say there was a cavity fluid filled when he went in but my body should absorb it.How can it with polypropylene and goretex mesh with titanium tacs...

i had dual abdominal hernias repaired at the same time, less then 2 inches shy of bein spread open hip to hip. Surgery was aug 12 of 2011, and since then I'm still having problems with pain it creates for me. I even went back to the hospital on numerous occasions due to more pain than i felt was more than what i felt was right, and infections. I had even had some of the stitching come out through my skin, yet i was reassured that this was normal and that I had nothing to worry about.(B.S.) And yet there are times that it takes the breath out of me because of the pain i get in my stomach area, and also believe that they may have tied it into tendons that run down my inner thigh. I have also had problems with my manhood if you will that I feel was cause by the manner in which they have fastened the material into my body. I just need some help figuring out what I can do about this because its been a little over a year now and it causes me uncomfort everyday. I sure dont want to have to deal with this the rest of my life, because I am only 32 years of age, and should be in my prime, but I also understand that things take time to heal as well, if done correctly. If anybodies about to please e-mail me back any information possible, I need all the help I can get. Thank you, [email protected]

You work for a law firm. Thats the link you posted. Its an advertisement. Do you really have a "friend" or is she a client? I'm just asking because it is suspicious that the link is a lawyers site not an "information site". Just saying "Jessica" from Washington D.C.

This is a hernia mesh forum not the transvaginal bladder mesh sling forum. Go advertise for the law firm on the proper forum, even though those women will not appreciate you trying to phish for clients either. There are enough information on the internet without going to the website you are soliciting. I mean internet sites that are run by other mesh victims without any agenda but to help other victims has plenty of information. Mesh victims have been used by so many entities, their doctors, mesh companies and the FDA, now the lawyers are out to make a buck off our suffering. We pay while everyone makes money. Why don't you come on here and say it like it is that you are helping to get clients for law firms. Do you think we are all stupid?

Had inguinal hernia repaired in 2001 with mesh

no problems at all. Just had second repair of
other side (no mesh Dr's idea) and not happy

repairs I would bet is the Doctors/Surgeons
lack of experience doing the repairs and using
mesh. If you need a Hernia repair check out the
Hernia Instute in Miami that's all they do. Perhaps
contacting them if you are having problems with
a previous repair might be a good idea also.
Good for you, so then why are you on this forum? You should be living your no complication normal life instead of looking for complications from hernia. You want to blame the doctors fine, they are at fault too for not doing research and just trusting the sales rep. For example the Kugal is just placed after the incision then it pops into position like a tent, to make it easier on surgeons. But how to you explain after the mesh was lifted to remove it and right below the mesh the intestines looked like a blob in the exact shape of the mesh. It was chemical leaching reaction that caused chronic inflammation of the intestines, which caused massive adhesion. So did the doctor cause this? Then from the chemical leaching it destroys the endocrine system along with causing autoimmune diseases and it is proven in many victims medical records, so did the doctors cause the diseases and cause slow damage of the thyroid, adrenals, pancreas etc?
Stop infuriating the sufferers and just go away from this site.

Hi, you give it to them, looks like more and more skeletons coming out of the closet. I will update you on my dilema, still passing razer blades, and funny enough, the latest poo test, I got a call from the original specialist who performed the colonoscopy in 2008. I think my GP, know a lot more and is not telling me. That other surgeon who did the prolapse and the colonoscopy still have heard nothing from him. I hope they take his license away. Glad to hear from you Sonia! Was wondering how you were doing. I hope that you will be able to get the help you need soon. I am increasingly interested in the proliferation of mesh products to other countries. We have had several posts from other continents and they all say the same thing as we post here. This situation is slowly developing into world wide harm done by mesh and a continueing marketing effort by big medical firms. In researching past documentation of mesh development I was surprised to see French, German, English and Swiss manufacturers as well as American. Many of the Europeon documents are very specific about the erosion, chemical leeching and material breakdown and migration of mesh. Why, other than money/greed, would any company come up with a marketing concept that promotes a lie that this stuff is benign, pliant and harmless? Globaly there must be millions of implantee's. Many may be in developing regions of the world where there is no access to the internet and information on the dangers of mesh. Pretty scary actually. I send my Best Wishes to you and your family Sonia. And I send my wishes for a Very Merry Christmas and Happy, Happy New Year to you all. God Bless us, everyone. Lets hope that 2013 is a breakthrough year for us all.

Andy, All meshed up is right and we are talking about two different lawsuits, one is Kugel Mesh, the other is vaginal Mesh and i hope your friend is not male. Don't worry they will get screwed also. The law firms are the big winners of any settlement. Clearly there is no justice for the little guy. One big lesson for young people today in the working world, don't become reliant on the system to help you when you become injured. You need insurance to protect yourself in case of sickness or injury. Most policys will pay back three guarters of what you payed in when you reach retirement. Protect your family from the medical world.
You are completely right, Blair. Thanks again. "Andy's" post reads almost the same as "Jessica" from "DC". As I have posted previously, the "vultures" are trolling for victims. They will give these people hope that they will be able to recoup some of what they have lost. They will be screened, catagorized, sucked dry of all their information and if not deemed worthy they will get a call from some minimum wage call center worker who informs them ( in a not so caring voice ) " We are dropping you as a client at this time because you do not have a strong enough case". Please contact a local lawyer before your statute of limitations are up". Thanks for contacting *enter lawfirm name here* and have a nice day. NEXT! We all need to contact and make a report to the FDA MAUDE site, again. And again. And again. Only by overwhelming numbers can we break down the doors that have been shut in our faces. Only by overwhelming numbers will we be able to get the attention of those people that are ignoreing us, abuseing us, ridiculing us and looking down their noses at us. We all need to participate in this campaign for our rights as victims. Thanks for your help Blair and all of you that are suffering through this sham but still fighting.

had a grynfeldt hernia repair 9/2011 and since then I have had chronis hives which i got tired of taking benadryl and my PCP wanted to try OTC antihistamines. I have pain at and around surgery area. You can see the pariameter of the mesh by the hives on the outside of by side that defines the edges of the mesh internally. I have chronic fatique and muscle aches. MY cholesterol increased and I eat organics, mostly vegetarian, dont use condiments... I eat very healthy and had not experienced such physical ailments until this mesh was placed. had follow ups with surgeon but never addresses my complaints. surgeon notes that mesh remains intact and stable per MRI but not followed up w/ MRI w/ contrast.(thats how hernis was diagnosed) Initially misdiagnosed as LIpoma until it got so big it was affecting my large intestine and the ligaments to my left kidney.

Whats so sad now adays is that one cann't even trust a surgeon! Thats my true feelings... One has to research research every angle before having any kind of surgery of any kind. For any more they surgeons, are out to make big bucks themselves!! I know for I researched everything before my second office visit. One needs to take on next visit any printed out stories of bad surgery. Ask all kinds questions. rather they are Pro or Con questions, Other words back the doctor surgeon in the corner, don't let him her lie to you. Been their. In my case surgeon didn't know that I was up onto the cons of the bladder sling surgery. Will not go back to him. I gave him the best gift of knowledge to him. For I left him the folder of all the bad surgeries caused by the Bladder sling surgery. I also asked him if he knew that these slings were not even approved by FDA to be on market. The look on his face. Priceless to me. For he didn't get screw my life up to pad his pockets...

Ok just read this on internet, Obamacare pre-exicisting Conditions Fee to cost companies $63.00 perperson These charges are a buried charge in recent regulations. Yet nothing is getting done to cut the cost of what is causing these pre-existing conditions. Stuff like many bad meds, bad med devices, I blame our own Fed Gov for these high cost. Fed needs first to rebuild our own Human Health Care System. Starting with FDA. For they are the jerks that allow bad medical stuff on the market. Not enough research being done to see what all side effects these meds/ devices etc can cause a persons health. Do most normal people ever wonder how alot of junk gets put on market or how it even gets tested for approval? Most unfitted med stuff is tested on people of back streets of third counties of the poor homeless people . Most people are of little schooling. Big pay offs. I also remember seeing a show last yr. about this testing of meds for fda approval. It seemed it was 60 mins, or 20 20. The gov could do alot to cut alot of red tape. One get Americans to run our county. Starting with SS department. It seems when I call them I end up speaking to an non broken true english speaking person. Then always getting back to back letters correcting their own screwups of one hand not knowing what the other hand is doing! Blind leading the blind! I got say they SS don't like when I call. What gets me is all the pay offs trade off. Getting SSDisability you fill out tons of life history, in triple forms some more then that. Then within few weeks been deined. Then now one has to hire attoreny meaning you have to refill papers, meaning you have to do most leg work. Then who knows how look before a judge sees you or your file, I know some people it took up to 3yrs. Then if person wins the case, the attoreny gets 1/4 of the award toward you. Sure you do get back pay which ends up paying back bills if one hasn't become homeless first, or passed way waiting. We live in a screwed up greedy med world.

Atrium is a nasty word in my house. The Fda did aa inspection of their facility a few months back. Please look at the warning letter from the fda to atrium on the fda website. Have no idea of any Canadian lawyers. Maybe report it to the fda. I'm sure someone here can lead you in the right direction. Same thing my husband went through with his Atrium mesh over 14 monts ago and still very very sick.

Hi everyone, I hope you are all doing well under the circumstances. Has anyone heard of or had implanted or there is a class action suit going for a product Biodesign Surgisis. The solicitors in Australia are waiting on the American's to see whether there are legal proceeding going on for this product which is made by Cook Biotech.

The reason why the solicitor actually found this, was not through the surgeon's operation report, but the records that the hospital holds.

I have done some reading, and it reads like a nightmare, inflamation, infections, degrading etc.

If anyone has any information particularly legal action against Cook Biotech for the Biodesign Surgisis, please let me know. Meanwhile still passing razor blades and I am on Penicilin, full-time.

I can relate with you, for six yrs I went to the surgeon indicating the fatigue, pain, seroma, hives etc. I went to 9 times, he kept on saying I was fine. But I was not, I was dying. My body was rejecting the mesh, causing chronic inflammation which caused permanent damage. My GI system has been damaged, I never had any digestive disorder until the implant. The mesh is made out of chemicals it does not belong in human body. You need to get it out of your body ASAP. Over the yrs I saw about 20 Drs from office visits to hospitalization, no one tell me the truth. I had to go out of state to get help. Drs. Cover for each other and even if they believe it is the mesh, they do not want to get involved in possible legal supoena so they will not tell you the truth.
To stop the hives, I was prescribed Atarax, Zyrtec & Pepcid, it needed a triple threat to make a dent. Zytec & Atarax is a Histamine 1 inhibitor and Pepcid H2...
