In effort to help keep pets out of the animal shelter, and to make sure people are not using people food given to them from Center of Hope (instead of feeding their pets with it) Parker County Pets Alive! is partnering with Aledo's Center of Hope and these fine businesses to hold a Pet Food Drive.

Suggested items to donate:
Dry kibble and Canned food for Cats, Kittens, Dogs and Puppies, Bones, Biscuits, Rawhide chews, Pig Ears, and other treats & Kitty Litter (no Ol' Roy please)

Drop off locations are:
Brookshire's Willow Park & Weatherford
Teskey's in Weatherford,
LeChateau in Willow Park
Spectacles West in Weatherford

Thank you in advance for helping us help pets and people in need in and around Parker County!

What the hell does "to make sure people are not using people food given to them from Center of Hope (instead of feeding their pets with it)" mean?
I've been re-reading it for five minutes and can't figure out what you're trying to say or insinuate.
Do you really think people go to Center of Hope and get grocery bags of food to take home to their pets?
That's as ridiculous as the myth of old people eating cat and dog food because they can't afford people food.
Have you compared the cost?
I think you are creating a crisis out of thin air.

People go to Center of Hope and get food for themselves- but because they are low on funds (sometimes a temporary issue and sometimes a long term issue) they end up sharing/feeding food intended for THEM to their pets. It's a real issue. It's a real concern. And we are trying to address it. We want people to use the food that is intended for them and have the opportunity to pick up pet food while shopping for their needs.
So the wife one of our Weatheford City Councilmen has onlt speaking concred for this. It she so important?

SCS, you opened a real can of worms with your post about donating pet food. Are you going to explain about Ol Roy?

Gee, my dogs do just fine. Thanks for meddling though.

Had no idea the needy were so high maintenance. I just figured if 'ol Roy was good enough for 'ol Rex and 'ol Molly, it was good enough for those other 'ol dogs.

Next thing you will say is that I shouldn't feed last years hay.

Her post slamming Ol Roy has disappeared - shame, could have been good material for a law suit.

There was no slam against ol' roy dog food. The shelter can't use it because it causes dog poop to turn red from dyes in the food. The shetler staff doesn't want to mistaken red poop for blood in the stool. When the error was realized that this food was not being donated to the shelter, but was going to to Center of Hope, corrections were made.

If you donate pet food to the shelter, please avoid Ol' Roy they can't use it.

Are you saying the shelter sends Ol Roy dog food to the Center of Hope or does Walmart send it to the Center of Hope? Just curious.

Nope, don't try to put words in my typing. Get your readers out. It's in black and white EXACTLY what I said. You even highlight what I typed with quotations marks.

This statement does not make sense. What error? What corrections?
What food, Ol Roy? Not being donated to the shelter by whom?

PS when you hit the reply button, quotes are automatically used.

When requests were made for donations and shared with various media to promote this particular pet food drive, benefiting The Aledo Center of Hope's Pet Pantry, it was typed in some places (no Ol' Roy please) because in the past donations were always collected for the shelter and the shelter requested no Ol' Roy because it makes dogs' poop turn red from the dye and that looks like blood in the stool and that causes alarm thinking pets are ill. When the error typing (No Ol' Roy please) was realized-that Center of Hope can and will accept Ol' Roy corrections were made where they were found.

Oh nevermind.
