Our police department cannot provent a walking path from being tagged just out their back door. What makes it safe to walk in the middle of the day if such activities occur right under the noses of police department? Guess this will be just another overfunded mess like every other one here in town. ONe thing for sure Weatherford can serve as an example of how not to do civic projects. It won't take long for worse incidents to happen on this silly path to nowhere.

I'm just waiting for someone to get mugged on this path and sue the City. Guess who will pick up the tab on that? The taxpayers. The good news is our City Manager will keep collecting his $130,000.00 yearly salary.

First, I have spoken to the Weatherford City Council and many city employees about potential problems on the Town Creek Hike and Bike Trail.
Already, there has been vandalism and this is probably only the first of many.
This time, the only costs are the clean-up.
But, what about more serious things - assault, robbery or an incident with a moving train and a child at the "at grade" railroad crossing near Holland Lake?
Does the current Weatherford Police Department have the will to investigate vandalism at their own backdoor on this trail? How does any police department investigate vandalism?
Do you remember the articles about the cyclist colliding with a runner and her serious injuries that occured on the Katy Hike and Bike Trail last year in Dallas? Do our officials think that can't happen here?
They tell us police officers will be using it to do their running exercises "at all hours" and that members of the WCPAA will be on the trail for extra "eyes". More importantly, the Weatherford Police Department has published newspaper articles suggesting how you can protect yourself when on the trail.
These are all good suggestions and tactics, but, realize, the Trailhead at Cartwright Park has a locked gate at night to prevent the wrong kind of usage. How long will it be before we see locked gates at the new entry points in town?

"Weatherford Police Department has published newspaper articles suggesting how you can protect yourself when on the trail. "
Did they include the option of getting a CCL and packing a loaded piece? If not they should have.

A fun question has surfaced about the walking path. Is it going to be available to horseback traffic? You cannot exclude horses if dogs are allowed. All one would need is a giant pooper scooper. I hope there will be more benches along the path. There will need to be traffic patrols to force all those pushy cyclist to be polite to walkers and others. They tend to hog any place they go around here. Just asking a question or two.

I really do love the idea of the Hike and Bike Trail, even wuth all its inherent issues, BUT WHAT I WANT TO KNOW IS HOW MUCH IS IT COSTING THE CITY TAXPAYERS AT THIS POINT?? Did we not just put in the park over at Holland Lake and it cost us a pretty penny? What about the bills due for the roadways?? We have not gotten anything back yet from TXDOt, so where is the money coming from??
I HAVE SEEN FIRST HAND THE CITY WORKERS PUTTING IN AS MUCH AS 12 HOURS A DAY OVERTIME TO FINISH THE HIKE AND BIKE TRAIL. THE CITY WORKERS SAY THEY ARE TRYING TO FINISH BEFORE THE PEACH FEAST. Ok, great! But who is footing the bill? How much is the bill for all this overtime to pay the city workers costing us? Did we not just furlough folks last year because of our budget woes???

A little birdie has mentioned the amount of 3 Million and rising for the cost of that latest goof up of a walking path. If one has been listening to the scoop on most of all the city's projects not one is without goof ups and cost overages. The whole thing is embarassing when you consider the whole picture.

And, again you are wrong, There are many police reports about things that have happened on the bike paths.
Yoy have heard the Texasparts and Rec Dept is shuting down the Minieral Wells Rails to Trails. They are out of money. Of course the taxpayers of the City of Weatherford can pick up the cost.

Again, you take a Star Telegram article, don't read the whole thing. Then make up a lie that fits your hatred agenda and post it!
The article listed several state parks that maybe will have funding cut due to gov. perry wanting to give everyone a $30 tax rebate.
You've turned your lying spotlight on the trail because you hate parks and especially walking trails. Why? Who knows.
I read the Democrat, Star, Community News and Springtown Epigraph every issue. I must have missed all the stories about problems on the path. My earlier post had to do with your "alert" of June 2011 when you and sid were screaming sky is falling.

Just to be clear--everyone knows that a horse is the same as a dog, right?
If it is legal to keep a dog in your yard, it is also legal to have a horse?
How about a herd of cattle?
Bike riders are such hogs. Wait, if you let dogs you have to let hogs in too.

Issues ranted about two and a half years ago. Much ado about nothing.

Just wait until all the low income apartments are added in the area. Then wel see even more crime at night on the trail. Daytime is great

Don't walk at night. They turn off the lights anyway. How about spending the night under the viaduct? That might not be safe, why don't you kvetch about that T?

So, where are the apartments going, or is that another allegation made up by the losers of the last election.

No, she hates renters.
And by renting the building on South Main, she is one.
So, by fact, she is self-loathing. Ask your latest live-in about that term--self-loathing.
Interesting.

How about west of the railroad, east of Ft Worth Hywy, east of Santa Fe, where those old houses the city has purchased.
WE Need more low rent, Sec 8 housing in the downtown area. It will help the businesses in the downtown business area.
If I can make all this stuff up I should be writting for Hollywood.

Your rants do seem like the plot of a Wachowski Brother's movie. You ask in the above question (?) "How about..." but no question at the end of the sentence. What?
Where do you get these lines of reason? A rubik's cube? You're a sick, demented person with too much time on her hands. The fog is lifting, why not go out for a walk and clear your pea-brain?
Tani and bill hate poor people. Especially renters.
And Tani rents. Hmmm
