Does anyone know if the mayor of Grambling is stepping down? I heard a rumor about it and wanted to know if anyone can shed some light on the topic...

Check out the ruston daily leader for Friday. Pretty much open discussion about concerns.

No. She has not stepped down and she will not! The council is waiting on the paper work from the Secretary of State to recall her. They have to get enough signatures to recall her. They are confident that they can get enough to seal the deal! I sure hope so!!
Stop the corruption! It's a FREE FOR ALL in politics!

No the mayor of Grambling is not stepping down. whoever told you that rumor lied to you just like all the other lies the city council is spreading out to the media. The Mayor is the person that asked for an investigation back in February 2008 due to a breach in the office and office protocol. she wanted to have an official investigation done by the people whose job is to investigate white collar crimes. All of a sudden the city council has turned their back on the mayor and employees who have done their best to assist the State Troopers office in the investigation by supplying them with the documentation that they requested they needed to investigate. the administrative clerk was NOT fired she walked off the job chasing after the council in question. Mind you it is not all the council that are running scared just a certain few who have had their police department commit bodily harm to a few of the Grambling staff including myself...Trust me there will be more lawsuits to follow.

why can't people get their act together? There's too much good stuff going on in the world for the people who run this city to be acting like a bunch of children. I would expect this from people around my age (22), because we're petty, but these are grown people (I guess) running around like this. I've never been this ashamed of my own people and it will only continue to get worse. All I want is someone to resolve the whole thing and pump some resources into the city. There's supposed to be oil and natural gas under Grambling that could help the city tremendously, and we have our city leaders trying to pull each other down. And all it does it make the people in Ruston, Monroe, etc look at us like, "Look at those n******, they can barely run their city." Straight up, get your shit together.

Of course it didn't do the Mayors reputation any good to dial "911" snd state that some Councilmembers were holding her against her will. When the Sheriffs Deputy arrived he found everything 10-2, meaning good.

One of the main problems with Grambling is the Councilmen. They don't know how to be just that, Councilmen. You can't be councilmen and Mayor at the same time. You have to hold your ambitions and your personal agenda's in check for the good of the City. Instead of trying to make our Mayor look bad, and stupid or possibly senile they should be undergirding, supporting and SUBMITTING to her and the authority, that her office carries with it. If there is any theft going on I would bet a $1.00 to a $100.00 that she is not doing it. Even though she has the duty to oversee and guard against these things, she is not the one doing it.

Does it matter to anyone in Grambling that the city is missing out on a heck of a lot in terms of growth. Just look around you: Ruston is really growing, Arcadia is beginning to grow and what is Grambling doing....NOTHING. I don't live in Grambling but there's got to be enough people there that really care about Grambling and wants to see it grow. Come on people; get rid of all the selfish people and elect some individuals that's really going to work for the CITY.
