You keep asking for donations to fix the football field. I will not put one penny toward that field because you were offered half the money to fix that file by arch coal company and you turned it down. Could have been fixed last year if you would have accepted the offer for help when it was given.

Right on ! Turfing the field is not high on our list. What's going to happen in 10 years when we have to replace it? Lets see what we can do to make the city better and it sure isn't a Turf field we are not competing with bridgeport for gosh sakes.

Just think of how the money that is being spent on putting artificial turf on the field could be spent on improving academics and reducing truancy. Yes, I'm sure someone will say that athletics improve academics and reduce truancy, but not everyone is an athlete nor do they desire to be one. The majority of the students are not involved in sports and the project will benefit the minority.

May as well quit complaining about the turf because it is gonna happen soon. Just why cant you people get it through your heads that the annual cost of maintaining Mckinney field compaired to turf is gonna save the BOE lots of money. You know the salary of the guy that is paid to fix a field that has no hope because of too many sports being played on it, paint, water, and the time paid to the employee that cuts it 3 times a week. How pathetic is it to have games cancelled like the did 2 years ago. So my question to you is what is the solution to the field besides turf. Please reply cause I am so anxious to hear

Don't care what the answer is since the boe turned down the money to fix it 2 yrs ago when it was offered. Do what you want but I won't pay for it.

Oh no I am not. Just got kids that play on that field and know the danger that it is. Besides just tired of reading all the BS of why it is not needed. If I am a smartass for thinking of kids safety then so be it. Atleast I am one for that and fot that I thank you!

Sure it's going to happen since your got the Board to bend over and give you $350,000 to finance it. The way I look at it, we ALREADY gve you that money once through a bond. You blew it by not doing it right. Not my fault. Now they are going to take $350,000 from other school projects THAT WILL NEVER GET DONE NOW or 5 years from now will be asking for another bond when they would have still had this $350,000 for something else. I am cool with the community donating. I just think they just have asked for community donations for the ENTIRE balance, not one extra penny from the Board since it was paid for once. If you people hadn't have been so dead set against changing the name from McKinney Field to Arch Coal Field or something like that, this would have been GIVEN to you already. You don't deserve the taxpayer money anymore!!! I hope the Board reads this. Don't ask for another bond for at least 10 years. We will vote it DOWN!!!!!!!

The YOU pay for it. Oh, wait, we already DID pay for it once through the school bond. The BOE should NOT be giving them ANOTHER $350,000 that could have been used for better purposes!

They need to put money towards books for these kids to bring home to do thier homework. I get tired of hearing the kids say we are not allowed to bring those books home because there isn't enough books to go around.

We don't have to have these sports. We need to make sure the kids are educated. Buy books. Education materials.

Too late cause the turf is on its way. But listen money that was used for the turf had to be used on things that would save the boe money on utility cost like plumbing and heating upgrades and so on. The money could not br used for educational purposes. The turf will save aprox $20,000 a year. Each of the subjects you people bitch about has its own funding and believe me turf is not takeing away from that. Yes these kids need sports cause I love watching mine play.
