Seems we have a new case of embezzlement brewing in old grafton. I know, who would believe that..

Looking forward to more facts coming to light, but it seems the books were cooked enough to warrant investigation.... most likely looking at medicaide fraud here unless its too obvious to assume... wouldnt that be federal? Hmmmm

How many more public employees in Taylor County under suspicion of embezzlement or harassment are going to be allowed to retire without the prosecuter doing a dam thing to address these issues criminally?

Thanks for the update...
One has to wonder though, how long does it take in grafon to determine a ctime has been committed or who is responsible? Clearly the change of management indicates sohme wrongdoing by the pevious administrator warranting neing canned, or were thry allowed to retire and take their pension too?

According to the audit records, the money that was initially reported as stolen was accounted for by the state auditors. This is public information and it is our right to view such documents. I am with mcbill on the benefit of the doubt. There seems to be a whole new staff and they should not be judged by the previous people's doings. Believe it or not......there are still good people out there!

There are I'm sure... but in the wake of so many embezzlement cases in Taylor County , among other villainous acts, trust is not as easy to com by. Particularly when the news so often leaves such gaping questions unanswered. Not to be cynical but did these missing funds just reappear? And if so, does this not seem a bit suspicous?

I've no issues with giving the new administration the benefit of the doubt, its the doubts about how such an error occurred, or funds appearing and disappearing that I'm questioning.

I sat in the meeting when he introduced himself to the tcc but cant remember his name. And yepper, that "now you see it, now you dont, now you do" money thing goes on all the time. Why it wasnt too long ago that the sheriff informed the that same tcc that somewhere around a hundred grand was missing. Never heard another word about and the paperboy sure as hell didnt print it. Anybody want to bet they found it?

I wouldn't take that bet...

But I gotta thank you mcbill, somehow I just got a flashback of a great old movie I've got to see again now... the best little whorehouse in texas...remember the song that goes like this?

Oooooooo I love to dance a little sidestep, now they see me now they don't...dadadada
Ooooooooo I love to dance around the white steps, cut a little swath, and lead the people on.

Another related case also is quite troubling ... Years have passed since the state tax office fealt the sudden urge to take over control if Taylor County's Tax forfeiture Sheriff sales... Also a very very unusual thing to do if no problems existed. Having a tad bit of insight in this matter, I suspect a great many irregularities existed that spurred this action.

Afterall, when 167,000 dissapears from under the sheriffs nose clearly indicative of a problem beyond thievary. The timing of this action was years after those thefts, yet no explanation was given why Taylor County could no longer be trusted to conduct these programs themselves ... not a word... nothing but a little note on the state auditors door reminding agents not to leave any of the money collected at the tax sales in the counties hands. According to his secretary...

It appears we just can't have the public learning how much has been stolen by those they trust to lead them....

Test drive update... Aint lookin good. So being as i am totally disgusted with the supposed "campground" next to my place... I decided to raise hell because grafton/taylor county deserves better. In my studies, i learned that the health department regulates campgrounds. Now keep in mind that this mess started in oct 2010. Last month, i was told they never had a permit to operate. Then i was told that they had obtained one through the state. Being as i can read and am not to lazy to research, i learned that there are more than a dozen violations. Also, upon talking to the state health, i learned that permits are only given on the local level. Well, last friday i called to inform this depts inspector of just how much i loke smoke up my arse and found out that he no longer works here! Suprise! So then the fella taking his place proceeds to tell me that he is planning to grant a permit. I told him that he better meet with me firstand why. Welp... He was suppose to meet with me this morning and it is now 7:47 PM. Not lookin too good.
