I THINK HE WAS TRYING TO HELP HIS FAMILY. SO THEY SHOULD NOT ACCUSED HIM CRIAMNAL.

THEY SHOULD CHECK HIS CRIMANAL RECORD AND GO FROM THEIER. IF EVERY THINK LOOKS GOOD THEN THEY SHOULD JUST LET HIM GO AND KEEP EYE ON.

I THING HIS VERY SCREA. BECAUSE I AM SHOUR THAT HE HAS FAMILY AND HIS BUSSSINES SO HE DON'T WONT TO LOSSE THAT PROBBLE. GOD BLESS HIM.

While I agree with you that he was ony trying to bring in his family.. Let's think a little further about this.

Each and every member of his family could wait and be brought in to the country legaly, or they DO NOT BELONG HERE! We skew the immigration for "family reunification" way too much already.

The purpose of immigration is to bring to American people who will contribute to America not to bring people who will work cheaper and boost the bottom line of a business owner by replacing American workers.

The man was willing to break the law and bring in family knowing they would be employed at the hotel, off the books, not paying taxes.

I have no sympathy for him, and will not have sympathy if he looses the investment he made in the business. He got HIS VISA by promising to invest in America, hire Americans etc.. Then after getting his visa he was willing to circumvent the rules and bring in low wage family eco slaves ( they woyuld have been forced into servatude because they would not have been able to work anywhere else.)

Is it compassionate to allow this? Not in my book!

I think he just was trying to help his country. I really don't think that you should not put him in jail because he is not a criminal or anything he was just trying to help some one who is from poor country. If you take some strong disition than only thing you should do is give him home jail and not allow to go his country for sertain years. I thik what ever he did is not any thing bad but he just make a mistak trusting that guy live in the motel for seven months that he broke his trust living there.

Wer will just have to disagree on this one. He got his visa by promising to create a business here in America and hire 10 American citizens.( yes they have these visas) Then after buying his motel, he decided those Americans could be replaced by family members dfrom the home country who would do the work much cheaper... He was a liar and a cheat.

He needs to lose the business, and do some time in prison before being sent back where ever he came from!

He broke the law and should just as every American Citizen does have HIS day in court. Let the judicial syatem do it's job. Even if you think the judicial syatem is broken.
Also folks remember the Chinese incident a couple of years ago. How much money was this man draining from the local economy and sending to his family overseas.

Confiscate his property and send him back to where his real country is. At his age he won't have the time nor desire to learn what ethics are. What would be the next thing he'd do that was illegal? Then we'd find out he could not be trained to be honest and have to pay to lock him up for 20 years. It's too late for him to learn7027. Get him out of here.

we all knowwhat he did was wrong. but he doesn't need to be punished hard. he was trying to help his people. there are lot amrican people who do worse crime then him. and they dont even get harsh punshment. he created his business and worked hard for his money so why should he go back to his country. he is us citizen just like any us citizen. let the court be the judge of what punishement he should get.

haven't you ever made a huge mistake? well this is the mistake that "Kalidas Patel" made.I really dont think he was trying to harm anyone. it is unfair sending this person to jail before the court take a peek at his criminal record. I could understand a fine but 10 years in prison? that is ridiculous. Well, all i can say now is

Gee it was the first time I ever robbed a bank..Judge, I am not a criminal.

The investors visa es not easy t get, it takes money, and a dedication to becoming an American. He had the money, but when it came to that promise to hire 10 Americans, he had a plan how to get rich by circumventing the law and importing slave labor from his family back home.

The trial will be held, and by the time he gets a sentence ( 10 years is OK with me for deliberate slaving) he will probably get off light. But, his arrest woke up a lot of investor visa holders, you cant say one thing, but plan to do another!

if you miss your family why don't you go over there and live with family? and if you really wants to help poor people why don't you send money to them so they can do little business overthere beside you giving $ 80,000 dollars to bring them here.$ 80,000 dollars is more than enough to do business overthere.$ 80,000 * 40=32,00000 rupees indian currency. that's lot of money ?
well we will see what will happen? i would like to help poor people but i am not that crazy to bring them here. ha hah ahahahahahhahahahahha

I think behind this trascation there is some other people must be involve so Immigration must search those people.
He might be innocent guy he might not knowing this crime and he did because some other people want to do this kind of work. Anyway i think immigration will search that
