Ok well from what I've seen SC STATE is actually progressing. All you have to do is take a stroll through the campus, there's construction and expansion that has taken place, enrollment is way up, more scholarship money I know because I have 3 cousins that are on full ACADEMIC scholarships there,and even the STADUIM. What about the history that was made during Hugine's term, the 1st Democratic Debate. and students are taking a renewed pride in STUDYING at this University...if that renders at 2.84 out of 5...I say the powers that be are just blind

What about the level of EDUCATION these students are receiving? Is it more important to expand and host debates or to educate the students? Your post mentions nothing about the quality of education improving or retaining top professors to aid in the education of students. So what is more important? |

Call in the naacp and the uncf. Purely this is a hate crime.

Anyone who thinks that college is ALL about classes is sadly under-informed. The whole college experience contributes to the "real-life" preparation of these young people. Classroom learning is only a portion of what is taken from the university. The debate awakened political awareness in the community. Let's hope its effect lingers through the upcoming primaries and into November. Other extra-curricular activities can help to build morale and focus students on studying and career building. They also keep the students busy so the temptation for destructive activities (such as the typical college sex and alcohol use) are squeezed out. Class learning doesn't come exclusively from the professors, either. The two mentioned programs have had problems partly because of the inability to attract better students. Higher on campus morale and perceptions will help to attract higher tier students, not that they are not there now but, en masse, and make SCSU their first choice for higher education and not just a "safety school." These students will, in turn, help those who struggle within the programs. Plus, for these two programs that are struggling, there are dozens that are successful with several ranked highly within peer institutions. Faculty members this year saw unprecedented pay increases (equity issues) to increase retention. This ALL happened under Hugine's leadership. But unfortunately, his successor will likely get the credit (that is, until the board gets tired of him/her) |

Sounds like maybe the board was correct in their decision . South Carolina NEEDS teachers and nurses . These are two programs that MUST NOT fail the students.

And what's so sad...is that you must likely only obtained a high school diploma. And what's worst...you probably obtained THAT by cheating your way through. |
||||
Actually what's "worst" is you trying to bash another poster's intelligence. What could be "worst"? |
