Yes, I also believe that Christopher Miller is writing on here about himself using other names. I believe he is the one that started the post! For the sad state of his employment situation, they "own" an awful lot of property---suspicious
I also believe that "levi" is a village cop, who, when the mayor first came on the Board loved her and referred to her as mom, as several of them did. Then when she was on the inside (instead of on the outside looking in and the only info she had to work from was what she was being told by the cops)she realized what actually was going on in the PD. Her and the Board took action to save taxpayer dollars and now the cops call her no good. Gotta love politics!
Probly not a cop but a cops wife.

We do need a new mayor - Chris Miller would not get my vote...it has nothing to do w/ his sexuality. First off, I am not being mean or disrespectful, but you cannot even spell common words such as "presence"(you spelled presents as in gifts), and "whole" would be the correct spelling for your term "hole town". You cannot keep a steady job, that is also obvious. You owning "too many " properties, well, who cares. And whether or not you have a criminal background, that would be checked if you wanted to run for mayor.

Weve been trying to get rid of the Gouverneur Sleep Department for some time now, but it looks like shrinking state/federal funding will finally do them in.

I believe Chris Miller would be a great mayor! We do need some changes in the village and maybe with Chris and Charles in there they will have some innovative thinking to get things going in this village. Have u looked around?? There are alot of empty store fronts. I would love to see the village a bustling place again. Jobs are needed here and we need some people on the village board to help do that. I'm not saying the ppl on there are doing a bad job but that we need some fresh minds there. As for you people that are busting on these guys on here for trying to do some good ....why don't you throw your hat in the ring and get on the board??? Have a great day everyone!!

Now there's a great idea, Charles and Christopher. WOW, talk about the blind leading the blind. We need experience and wisdom. Not a couple of self proclaimed geniuses that think they are the know all, do all. Sometimes its best to sit back, listen and learn. Something neither one of these blow-hards are willing to do. They are a couple of cowboys that believe its their way or no way. No thanx!! Have another beer! lol

well I know for a fact that chris din't post every comment on here .. All i have to say if your going to bash him because of his sexual preference then please realize that it is 2011 . Several states have now realized that its not right to judge people on their sexual preference and they now allow them to be married ... I do not know his history with the law so i can not sit here and act like i do . I just know that living in this town for about 4 years now there is nothing here and this town is slowly dieing . That anyone who wants to do more than work at the local McDonalds or the local drug store move out of this town . Most of the people that complain about change has never been anywhere else in their life other than this one horse town. So they know any thing other than what this town has to offer , and at this time it has nothing . This town does have the potential to be a great place to live and to make that happen it needs change !! I live here because the rent is cheaper here than watertown . The school is smaller so it is safer for my children . But when my children are grown what is to keep them here ? what will keep your children here ?? There is nothing other than dead end jobs here !! Its time to make a change and make people want to live here , make kids want to stay here when they graduate high school .. If chis isnt who you think should be Mayor then maybe someone else needs to run .. All i hear is blah blah blah .. not one of you is willing to step up and do the job !!! this town needs change . Chris like i said you are a good hearted person and i miss working with you .. If i was able to vote then i would but i still am registered to vote in another state and not considered a ny resident

If you are here (and non-military) after four years, your license is no longer valid. IF, on the other hand, you believe you cannot vote because you are still a resident of a Florida address, then, by all means, give some input as to what YOU think Gouverneur needs.
One good thing about us "nasty military people" is we have been around the globe much more than most people in this little town and have ideas that haven't even been thought of here.
YOU WILL FIND that the elected people who "run" the village are generally opposed to most anything new and that those of us who are looked at as "outsiders" are treated as outsiders and our ideas are usually pushed aside, ignored, or ridiculed.
The village officials really seem to have no interest in much more than their names in the paper, though I do believe that there are a couple who have tried to make sense and strides, but they are the ones always slapped down by everyone else.
The Chamber of Commerce doesn't seem all too interested in new commerce, and there are no other business organizations here that seem very proactive.

Actually what are those new ideas for the community? As much as Topix has been hi-jacked by ignorant people airing nasty personal business on this site. This should be a forum for cummunity ideas. It really could be a positive and powerful vehicle for local businesses shared with consumers. I don't live inside village limits. But it affects us all. A strong Gouverneur village is a positive for all businesses and school system.

Never once did i say "nasty military people" .. that wouldnt make since seeing the us army pays my bills but thanks for assuming .. and why would you try and bash me ? I said nothing adressed to what type of person you are and i believe that i said "Most of the people that complain about change has never been anywhere else in their life other than this one horse town. That is not what he/she was saying, so why are you being so defensive. Obviously the writer is also military and agreed with everything you were saying. It did look like you both were off to a good dialogue until you jumped in crying like a local!

Bottom line...if Chris Miller has a criminal record , he will not be able to run for mayor - so in saying so, if he REALLY does have a criminal record, the entire fight about not wanting him to be mayor, has been nothing more than wasted air.

Having a criminal record (felony, or otherwise)does not preclude one from running for elected office. Marion Barry ring a bell?

hmmmmm, good point! does being a pathological liar, a thief, and issues of being grandiose preclude one from running for elected office?
