I would like the Consignment Shop to know that their prices are twice as much as they should be! No ones going to pay $14 for used jeans when you can buy new ones at Wally world for $20. I wouldnt pay more than $2 at a garage sale. I don't understand the thinking behind any of the prices. Help yourself and lower your prices.

You are not getting the same stuff at Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart is full of second rate and substandard product and that is why they can sell that at that price. You will go thru enough Wal-Mart wear to justify paying more somewhere else. 14 bucks for new jeans does seem high...but it depends on the brand and condition. A garage sale is not heated, air conditioned, restocked, well-lit and convenient like the store. Talk to them and don't bash another local business on Topix...jeez people.

I didn't see where they were bashing, just making suggestions. If people feel the prices are too high then shouldn't they speak up and let the owner know. I am guessing the owner wants customers.

I have been in there a few times and so have some of my friends WE ALL feel that it is very over priced ... I am not paying 15 dollars for a pair of pants ,, that someone else has worn..... brand name label or not...and I do like going to garage sales and even the Salvation Army is cheaper also the St Vincent de Paul..

i do not beleive people are bashing the place i even feel the prices are way too high. you can go to canton and the prices are real cheap there and they have heat and all of that to. i feel she would have a big over turn if she came down on her prices. i love going in there but will not pay the prices at all. not for used items.other then that it is a nice store. just prices are too high...

bashing may have been a little harsh of a word, but my point was that if anyone has a problem then maybe they should talk to the owner or get a few people to talk to the owner. Write a letter, fill out a comment cart ( if they have them ) and no put them on here. We all know what happens on this site. This will lead to unnecessary comments that could ruin their reputation, stop others from considering opening a business and maybe the owner my question why they are in business here. I agree that that price seems high and sometimes cheaper prices and turning over items will make you more happey customers, but i guess that is their business model. Sorry I came across as accusing anyone of bashing. good day.

How dare you bash Walmart. I shop their once a month and love it. You must be a local business owner that's the only reason that you would talk crap about Walmart. I wish the would put one in town.
i love the shop

Consignment means they are selling for someone else so the prices cover the owners percentage and still allows the shop to make a little money...as a business they have to cover overhead and still make a little to be woth the time to be there. I love the consignment shop...i buy there all the time. I get a huge kick out of paying $14 for a $50 pair of jeans. Or i bought a pair of shoes for $25 that i would have paid $100 for in the store. But i dont buy jeans or shoes at wal mart. I just think the quality is poor and the stuff doesnt hold up well. Id rather pay $40 for a shirt that will last for yrs than a $3 shirt a wal mart that is going to rip out after a couple of washes. If you wouldnt buy $50 jeans to begin with i can see where you wouldnt want to pay $14 . The salvation army and the church has everything donated...they arent selling the items for someone else so of course they are cheaper although the salvation army isnt much cheaper lol. I have been thrilled by many of my finds at the consignment shop and hope they stay open for a good long while!! Have a great day :)

I like the shop. She always has great discounts. I have not seen jeans marked that high the most I gave seen is 7.50. If you don't like don't buy. Simple as that. I have bought many kittens for 1 or 2. I send stuff there also. I was just gone throw the stuff away. I had ok use for it and it was just like new. We r helping the community. Reselling our stuff. I will continue yo shop there. I don't mind spending a little xtra for something I like. By the time you travel to Watertown or Potsdam. Even Ogdensburg. You have saved nothing and helped out no one but the overpriced gas companies

I shop at wal mart too for electronics, hair care, toilet paper, etc. Not for clothing or shoes...or dog food for that matter. They dont have a single dog food that doesnt have corn meal listed as the first ingredient. So i get good dog food at tractor supply. Wal mart is good for some things but not all things!

when i say i got the same baby items at walmart for almost the same price i meant it litterally. same brands.. evenflow, graco, fisher price, the list goes on and on.. i check the brands and compare prices in different stores to make sure im getting the best deal i can in this bad economy.

I belive it's mor about recycling n giving back n she's right it's a store that's organized n ur gunna pay the same after gas, speaking up about the prices is neither good nor bad it's an opinion but when u put rude remarks it becomes bashing. Iv been there bought stuff and loved everything I got u can't get what they sell anywhere else in town w that variety

I take many many items up there to resale and make a little extra money, she always asks me what I would like to get for the item and she try to accommodate that for me. I used to have yard sales but people were always wanting to get something for nothing. I refuse to sell a 40 -$50 pair of jeans I just bought a year ago for $2.00 at a yard sale. It's nice to have someone here in town that is willing to consign and help this community out. If you find the prices to high, there are two other thrift stores in town that might work for you better.

If you would quit eating your butt wouldn't keep growing so you would not have to keep buying new Jeans.
