Why should the military get so many breaks?

I am not military and I have no military family but I would just like to say a few things. I find it utterly ridiculous that people find it unfair that military people get discounts, etc. They sacrifice a lot for this country. They go months without their families sometimes even years if on special forces. They risk their lives everyday when on deployment. They do go without hot showers and miss out on their childrens upbringing etc. You are all correct they were not forced to do this which is why they should be rewarded. They willingly sacrifice a lot just to serve our country. In doing such, they are protecting and defending the non-military people of our country which would include all you hatred filled people whom have been bashing our military and/or being jealous of the military benefits.

I will not respond to any posts attacking me directly as I've attacked no one, so let's please continue to maintain this as a discussion. Thanks for reading my opinion.:)

Because they're way better at it, enough so that its fun to watch and rivalries exist. I dont care to watch guys playing for fun in their backyard for something to do. I am one of many. Ever seen Yankee stadium at any given game? They bring in the money, hence, they can spend it on the athletes.

Yes, we definitely signed up for it. What do you guys think should be removed from the "breaks" we get? Do you think that breaks should be removed from all jobs that have them?

I was talking sports lol Every job has its benefits and I think they're great for whatever career you choose. Soldiers deserve every benefit they're given.

there were plenty of deployments before 9/11 just not as prominent in the news . umm desert storm etc.
