I have to say the village park is looking great. Nice job on cleaning it up, painting, mulch, etc. Hopefully people show their respect and stays clean. Kudos to those involved!

The DPW doesn't have a site. Mygouverneur.com just happened to do some stories on the work they do.

Well, considering that the DPW is funded by my taxes, anything they brag about counts for something I paid for, so that's something WE can brag about.

Why is it that we only cry "those are my tax dollars you've wasted" and never "those are my tax dollars that you put to a really great use"?

We paid for this, heck yeah we should be proud of it. Let 'em brag, they're literally doing it on your behalf.

The other side of main street st. still has all the built up sand from winter. They should of cleaned up both sides of the street. But yes the park does look nice. Plus don't forget alot of people donate there time planting and taking care of the flowers. It's not all the village workers that deserve some credit. The unpaid volunteers deserve some of that credit also.

The flowers you see in the park are done by the Gouverneur Garden Club. As are the flowers in a lot of the locations around town, such as Mills Park, Riverview Park, Gouverneur Fairgrounds, Sandbox at the Municipal parking lot. These ladies deserve a the credit that is given to the village.

Concerning the dirt still on the other side of Main St., I called the village DPW on it last year and was told it is the State's responsibility because it is a state road. Called the state hwy dept about it and they never did a thing. When the wind picks up it is awful walking up Main St. with all that sand & dirt flying in your face.

And I agree the Park looks fantastic, as well as the sand lot behind Main St. Great job Village DPW

The flowers look wonderful! A huge thank you goes out to whoever planted them!
Alot of people put gouverneur down, but I still think its a wonderful place to live. I can send my children out to play, community bbq's, the air is fresh and the grass is a rich green!

Well, would you mind explaining who did plant all of them?

So far all you've done is pop in to say "you're wrong," and offer nothing else. Excuse me if I consider that slightly rude.

Randall,

Since "wrong" won't answer your question, I will. The 4 pots around the clock were not planted by the Garden Club. I believe the Village planted those. Also, the flowers planted by the Garden Club were donated by the Gouverneur Correctional Facility.

Perhaps if you BOTH would do any research without shooting your mouths off, you would KNOW who plants what!
