It wasn't an accident, why do you think he was charged. Look at the Timeline, the facts, everything else.

Yes people he is where he should be...... HOME! Secondly he killed an innocent man that has a family, HIS family. He is part of that FAMILY. Last but not least Caleb, why do we think he was charged? Probably because NY is a no hunting accident state, nothing is classified as an accident anymore, at all. No exeptions. Its to deter people from being wreckless, so no matter what he would of been charged. No other reason.

He was charged because it wasn't an accident. He was hunting at night, where he didn't belong. Delierately shot someone.

thats right they should of been outta them woods before dark it dont matter if theres a wounded deer or not....if u get ur hunting licence they give u books and in them books they have a chart of times u can go into the woods with A LOADED FIREARM and when u have to be out of the woods with a LOADED FIREARM....if they would of followed the rules that man would of been alive....so there fore it was NO ACCEDENT....like i said no one who mistakes a human for a deer should get to walk away free get glasses or use the scope...

Well lets just see how many laws were broken that night.

Shooting from a road

Loaded firearm in vehicle

Trespassing

Hunting after legal hunting time

Taking illegal deer

Murder

Obstructing Governmental Administration

Filing a false statement

BEING STUPID

The one thing our instructor drilled in our head the most when I took the safety course which you must show proof of taking before you get your license... there is no such thing as hunting accidents just hunting carelessness. You should always follow the laws n regulations n never shoot unless you know exactly what you are shooting at

Well the false statement is easy, he claimed to have gone for help when its a fact he waited alost 30 min, then lied.

Obstructing Governemntal Admin for Lying to the police which made the investigation harder.

anytime you go hunting you take a chance. i know it shouldnt be that way. im not sticking up for the shooter. any time you drive you take a chance. everyone that has a drivers Lic. has taken the course. has passed the test. but people die everyday on the road. not everyone has the same level of skill or judgement. not everyone followes the rules or uses common sense. there could be a hunting accident. when you hunt public land. you cant know where everyone is. you could shoot at a deer. following every rule. you could miss the deer or hit the deer and have your bullet strike someone that you didnt know was there. not everyone wears blaze orange. and even if they did you can only see so far. it is not murder. i sure would hate to live the rest of my life knowing that i killed someone. everyday would be a nightmare. i know rules were broken. but the shooter is going have a life of hell forever. a day wont go by that he doesnt punish himself. be thankful you dont have to live with what he does.

Murder? No. He was charged with manslaughter. There's a big difference.

I knew Paul Hatch and he was a great man. I also had met his nephew, Tyler, who was with him ALL THE TIME. They were very close and I believe this was an accident. I am not to judge as anyone else here should be doing. May Paul rest in peace and may God Bless Tyler who has to live with this for the rest of his life. Those who judge are no better than the wronged themselves.

I can not believe what I am reading & frankly I am sickened by it. You should be ashamed of your selves ACCIDENTS do happen & they can happen to anyone. God forbid one ever happens to you.

Caleb you don't have a clue what you are talking about. Were you there? Have you talked to Tyler or any of the Family? No you have not. Tyler did not write a false statement, they were not hunting after dark, muzzle loaders are always full of powder they do not fire until you put a cap on them which did not take place inside a vehicle, they did not take an illegal deer, it was the last day of muzzle loading season you can shoot a buck or a doe genius, the state took the deer & he DID try to get help immediately. I was one of the people he got threw to!

Hunter I hope I never hunt in the same woods as you because obviously you are not a cautious or observant hunter. I have hunted for over 25 years and there is not a day I walk in the woods that I am not aware of my surroundings and no that accidents can & DO happen. My Great Uncle was carried out of the woods many many years ago, shot threw both legs. And YES it was a hunting accident.

Paul was more than Tyler's uncle he was like his second father. He never would have intentionally harmed him. Tyler was taught to be a careful & cautious hunter & never would have taken a shot if he would have known there was a person there.

Spence you are right accidents do happen, in your car, on a motorcycle, in a boat & hunting. As careful as we are there are still freak accidents.

NYS declared there are not accidents while hunting they are incidences, so everyone must suffer further. But yet they don't charge someone with manslaughter if there is an accident with a boat or car! That is why Tyler was charged because NYS is such a great state to live in. He will suffer the guilt of this accident for the rest of his life, but that's not enough is it? NO he has to deal with idiots like you who run your mouths about things you know nothing about & possibly serve jail or prison time.

Dealing with this accident has been hard enough for everyone we don't need to have to deal with anymore. I would appreciate it if you would keep your unintelligent gossip to yourselves & allow us time to heal, grieve & deal with this.
