The hospital needs a complete overview. I have terrible stomach problems, and I travel to Potsdam- Canton hospital to seek proper and caring services. The ER at Gouverneur is a complete joke!
I have been ridacuiled and made light joke of others conversation, others being the ER staff. There is only 2 nurses there that should stay and there is no doctors I would keep. Instead of adding on to the hospital hire a new medical emergency staff!
I know 15-20 people that refuse to go to Gouverneur hospital, even if they were dying.. I have seen the staff be rude, mean, and none compliant with the well being of people. The hospital covers the N.Y State pain level posters, they ask you what your pain level is on a 1-10 it does not matter what you tell them! Your getting tylonel and will be told to go home...

The administration needs to leave and stop making the hospital even worse... If you ask anyone they will tell you, they didn't think the hospital could get any worse!!!

Excuse me but i know gentleman who went to the E.R. there with a severely broken arm and was not given the proper pain meds until the arm could be taken care of properly. Wouldn't think of someone with a severely broken bone as someone seeking drugs with a bullshit problem or pain. With the proper x-rays and testing they should know if someone is just seeking drugs. It's not thier jobs in that E.R.just to judge.

Yo dummy, you can't give him drugs till the arm is fixed. Its a step by step process. If you was smarter than the average druggie you would know that.

not a free drug clinic?
i kno an elderly man that went there a couple years ago with a broken arm. they gave him hydrocodone and sent him home. he was later admited into the VA hospital in syracuse where he was told he had had a heartattack is why he fell and broke his arm. he spent 2 months in syracuse.

just recently he fell again breaking a rib. he was given tramodohl and sent home returned in worse pain was told he had a partialy collapsed lung and given hydrocodone and sent home. went to watertown and was admited and had about a quart of fluid drained off his lung.only a week stay this time.but still wondering how much recovery time it added for him b/c it was days b/4 reciving the care he obviously needed.

id have liked it if he had see a doctor that actualy finds and treats the problem.

Just so we are clear, pain medicine can be administered at any time; along as there is a clear understanding of what the problem is. In the case you are speaking of, such as a broken arm. Pain medication would be given to calm the patient down, enough to be able to x-ray the arm and to where the patient is in a relaxed enough state to gather any and all additional and vital information such as insurance, how the arm became broken etc..
I have worked at EJ Noble Hospital and the staff have minimal equipment and are short staffed a lot of the time. However, I have seen mistreatment, and rude nurses and doctors there. I enjoy my job, they don't seem to enjoy there's very well. I honestly would not work at EJ Noble Hospital again though, most of the people that receive treatment there do not get the proper pain medicine that they should. The pain meter is from 1-10 which they never follow. I can safely say things at EJ Noble need to change.

i am not complaining that he recived pain medicine right away. my point is thats ALL he recived. he should have been admited the first time both times and transfered if they didnt have the equitment or ability to treat him properly, not simply sent home. and i notice the first thing you list as "vital" information is insurance. i think that is the top priority at EJ Noble too. even if the sign in the waiting does say you will recive proper care regardless of ability to pay. btw my complaint is not about you or any other RN i think in a lot of cases the RN would do a better job than the doctor does.

Excuse me Ron P the gentlemans arm was x-rayed and determined to be severely broken. If you weren't a drummy dummie and knew anything about E.J.Noble you would know they dont fix severely broken bones there. They wrap them up and send you else where to get fixed. Now this gentleman fell from a roof " WOW " while working breaking his arm " hardly a fart backward Mrs.Fenlong " and did not have a little white medicaid card retard.
