I have to wonder

Ithaca, NY

#1 Dec 21, 2012
what all these towns will do when doc twinning retires and they have to pay 70 or 80 to have dogs from the pound put down, then they may wish they had contracted with shelters, you can't shot the dogs it is against the law, people in rossie are already remarking about a private pound at yellow lake and he's going to charge each town 4 to 5 hundred a year yet he'd have to make a round trip of atleast 30 miles to feed the dogs, no running water, where is the waste from the dogs going? doesn't make much sense

start the thread to down grade anyone I am just asking how the animals will be cared for if a pound is put on yellow lake and what happens when doc twinning is no longer available he is not a young man ya know, last time I had to have a animal put down it cost me 70.00 doc twinning charges very little but things will change when he's gone. and it's my understanding from two people they don't want a pound at yellow lake and they don't think it can be put there without running water and electricity,

You can't have a legal dog pound with no electricity or running water.

its not that hard to get certified and to get the drugs needed to do it yourself.. Jefferson county has for years.

how could he possibly make any money by the small fee he plans to charge and still give proper care for these dogs? I truly don't get it, he lives quite a distance from yellow lake, gas money to run there every day would eat up the fee in no time, yet he's going to heat , pay electric, buy food for these dogs, his reasoning doesn't make sense, unless he has another agenda !!!!

Dogs need electricity??
The requirements are easy to meet, shelter, heat, water and food provided and cleaned daily. NY AG And market regulations do not require "running water" as long as the animals needs are provided for he can bring the water daily to them. Research before you make erroneous comments based on opinions not facts!

I dont think its the dogs that need electricity I think it would be needed for the caregivers in case they need to make a night visit for some reason. Lights etc.. or perhaps to pump the water in from a well or other source? How would the dogs stay warm without electricity? DUH!! Unless you want to volunteer to arrive in the dark and fill up a wood stove. Double DUH!!
