New sales tax starts this Sunday. Now you will be paying a total of: 10.25% in sales tax thanks to all you good folks that voted on passing it for 15 months in order to pay off the I.R.S. So don't complain starting Sunday when your sales receipt charges you 10.25% in total tax.

Why ?? I love my job . I also like getting off work and driving home to my safe small town . I just don't feel like it's right to make ppl pay back something that should have been paid back by the folks who stole it .
that is right

You are exactly right, the people that were fianancially liable should be the ones to pay the money back. Thanks to the dumb flucks that voted for that tax in March, we will all be paying it back!

I'm sure Mayor Sanders and coup will extend the tax well beyound the 15 month deadline, stating not many folks shopped in Blytheville during the 15 months. Then again, most everyone voted for this tax, so I hope they don't cry now knowing their tax has gone up to over 10%

Here's the deal. All the people involved and their cronies voted for it. The others that voted cant count to ten and did what the Mayor and the black preachers told them to do. They'll probably be compensated on their water bills if RL has anything to do with it. SCREWED FOR AT LEAST 15 MONTHS!!! Thanks City of Blytheville cause I've never been so ashamed to live here as I am now.

I don't like the sales tax either. But when you figure 3.00 gas it makes it very hard to go out if town and realize any savings. In fact, unless you're making a major purchase, you're going to lose money. So we're damned if we do and damned if we dont.

Again another blow to the working taxpayers and home owners.
Those living off us recieving food stamps and all the "free" government checks for housing, utilities, medicaid etc, pay no taxes except for their liquor and non necessities.
Where was CODE ENFORCEMENT when our public works employees were being paid on the side and used our payroll and equipment to carry off contractors tear downs for cash..? And Mosley is still drawing a check off the city(us).
Our funds paid for it and non of it went to the city nor to pay for the landfill costs.

I bet those griping and complaining about it in this thread did not even vote... and if they claim they did, they are lying just to save face.
