Gosnell Water Dept

I have heard alot of complaints regarding the Gosnell Water Dept and their billing practices. I am looking for feedback from Gosnell residents concerning their individual experiences. If it is as bad as I have been told then a Class Action Lawsuit might be a possibility. I would just like to get a general consensus from people who live in Gosnall and their experience with the billing practices of this water Dept.

i personally dont know how they get away with some of the rates. example 2 people maybe 2 loads a day washed.. maybe 2 showers a day. may 2007 we used 2,980 gallons. thats about average for us, total bill with water sewage garbage 37.20 then august 4,070 gals used (we watered a garden) 41.49 total. sept 2007 9,980 gals used total due 60.28 . now we do live in a trailer.. we always check for leaks and if we find one its on us. but.. the 9,980 no way we could of used that much water. my average is around 2,900. and now on this current bill it states that may will have an increase the first 2000 gallons will be 11.00 every 1000 gallons thereafter will be 3.25 we have had a few disagreements with the water company. but.. have to pay it or have none. i dont like sharing personal stuff.. but.. if this gives you an idea about thier system. there has been many times in 15 years we have complained. and ask questions. the city seems to do what they want. hope this helps. have a good day

i forgot to mention on the 9,980 water bill.. i wasnt the only one complaining. 4 others were waiting to speak with someone. thier bills were worst than mine. i know, that others pay far for than i.. hopefully, you will get the people to start talking.

i had a bill and it was way to high checked the meter numbers compared to the numbers on the bill and i was nowhere close to using the water they said i did they will charge what ever they want

and you have gotta love that 25 dollar late fee! I run to make sure that bill is pd!

They will stop unethical practices if enough people complain. People should check their own meters more often to make certain that they are not overcharged.

We had our water shut off. Never got the bill and it was a Friday. Yup, you know it. Went to the water co to pay the bill on Monday and asked why we never got it in the mail. They told me we must have thrown it in the trash. Please!!! They are crazy. Who would do something like that. If we get a bill we pay the bill not throw it in the trash. You guess it we had to pay the late fee and pay to have them turn it back on which took them 6 hours. We had no idea what was going on with the water that Friday nite. Thank God we have family around here.

its not rocket science the bill is due by the 17th and late after the 20th unless you were a new customer...you knew you had a bill due right?

We pay the bills as the come in.. If it doesnt get in our mail box. It doesnt get paid. I dont have to buget my bills and keep an eye on the due date to make sure I pay them. Never been late before. You would think that they would call or something because it not like it happens ever month. Have been living here for 20years. Never had a problem before. She was just rude about it.

There are always problems with the water bill, For one they are estimated alot! Last summer they never came and read our meter unless I called and disputed a bill. The mgr is very hard to get a hold of thru the office, you can always find him doing his own personal business on the water company time.Whats up with him firing the last helper and putting his cousin to work for him?

Several years ago, they did not send some? bills out one month. Went out and started shutting water off. Guess they were thinking about that $25 multiplied several times? I also paid when my bills when they were received. Just thought they were maybe a little late in sending them out.

They do have bank draft available. Then at least you would know that the bill got paid on time.

Ilived in gosnell for several years, one month my bill would be $70.00, the next it would be $40.00 and we used no more,no less water.
They would charge a service fee of $15.00 late fee and another $25.00 service fee and if they said it had been shut off even if it hadn't they would charge $50.00 re-connect, even though it was never disconnected or they would tell me I could turn it on myself but they would still charge the reconnect fee!
The person they have as manager does not have his water liscence and they have someone that comes in once a month to treat the water,his system is a handful of this and a handful of that! One time it smells like boiled eggs and the next it burns your eyes from too much chlorine! And I am one of many people who will tell you the same thing.
I reported them to the epa, the better buisness burea and the states attorneys office and all they did was call them and give them my name and cause me harrasment by the manager who laughed at me, but wouldn't get out of his truck! and told me nobody could touch them, there's no telling how much they over charged us and many others there, except that is their relatives and buddies!

If they would hire somebody besides their family members to run things that might actually know their butt from a hole in the ground maybe it would be better, when you get ready to sue their butts let me know and I can get at least 9 others besides myself that they have screwed with their "estimating" and their bogus fees!
I won't be back in here but if you will give me an e-mail address I will give it to others that will contact you with their stories as well.
we've been waiting for someone like you to come along because if you can audit their butts I promise you will be a rich man!
