Jermeir Jackson-Stroud is a police officer and couldn't do anything about Shannon Elizabeth Crawley stalking him.

maybe he didn't want to.

I am not a cop, and know that "stalking is against the law". Jermeir Stroud's as- was not being stalked. Had he been stalked, just as I knew what to do as indicated below, he knew or should have known what to do. He is full of perfectly round shaped doo doo balls.

Legislative Update: North Carolina's stalking law was amended by SB 346, enacted on January 5, 2002. The new legislation expands the conduct which constitutes stalking to include harassment, defined to include written, telephonic, cellular, facsimile, voice mail, computerized, and other electronic communications or transmissions which torment, terrorize, or terrify the person to whom they are directed. The amendment also eliminates the specific intent requirement and lowers the level of fear that the victim must experience as a result of the conduct. In addition, stalking is reclassified as a Class A1 misdemeanor while a person who commits the offense of stalking after having been previously convicted of a stalking offense is guilty of a Class F felony.

HB 1402 Legislators in North Carolina enacted a new law establishing Address Confidentiality Programs that allow stalking victims to file an application with state government agencies to keep their address confidential. Stalking victims may apply for these programs regardless of whether the stalking acts have been reported to law enforcement by providing the state with proof that they are a victim of stalking. NC HB 1402 was signed by Governor Mike Easley on October 31, 2002.

I personally feel like that " he was more involve with this woman than he is admiting, but it no excuse to take a life ,I think that he led her on , to a certain extent and then wanted to break it off and i guess she snap!! The sad part so many people was hurt behind this 1 is dead 1 in jail and the man in the middle is free to continue with his life.

This is so insensitive. First of all show me a man or woman who is blameless of sin. This man made a mistake like most young men do and had to suffer the lost of his fiance'. Do you think he is happy and free?! How about we place your wrong doings on the front line and kill someone you've hurt in the past (or are you blameless too). No one deserves this on Denita's side and Jermeir's. Instead, just pray. Pray for the families, forgiveness, and pray for the mental state of Shannon who had no reason to take a life like she did. Pray that the Lord will grant mercy on her soul. Do not judge because by the same measure you judge others, you will be judged.

BLAH BLAH!!!! So the crime was done, the perpatrator should be CONVICTED AND HUNG!!!! An eye for an eye...GOD Never said it was okay to kill!!!! No judgement call required. I believe, like YOU know that this so-called innocent woman went CRAZY over another lying man.UH---THOU SHALL NOT KILL, IS THE COMMANDMENT!!! NOT THOU SHALL NOT KILL UNLESS YOU ARE HEARTBROKEN OVER A NO-GOOD FOOL. Denita rest in peace...Because YOUR fiance and YOUR KILLER SURELY CAN'T!!!

And, now that the trial has occurred and ended, it hurts me so much to see that a two beautiful young women's lives have been literally taken from them at the cruelty and deceit of Jermeir Stroud. He should be the one feeling the emptiness, loss, guilt, conviction and destruction of life that both of these women have experienced. Denita is dead, and Shannon is in prison for the remainder of her life, without the possibility of parole because of Jermeir Stroud who is now dating some woman he met at Denita Smith's funeral. He disgusts me.

I am in total disbelief on what you have posted about him dating someone he met at Smiths funeral! If he loved her as much as he has told everyone how could he begin dating so soon

@ Mysterious. I was at the trial, and spoke with Denita's family members. I also know others who know Stroud, who also stated he is dating. It is extremely disbelieving but true. How can people be so blind as to not want to accept truth when it is given. Unfortunately, perhaps this is why things like this happen. Too many times when truth is presented, people think it is too unbelievable to receive as factual. I have no reason to make this up. Further, if he loved Denita so much, why did he play on her over five years. Then put her into a situation of harm. That, to me, shows a selfish greedy individual-not loving.

I just seen the story on "Snapped " so men will tell women what they want to hear to make them feel good and that what happened he played them both and when a women is scorned she gonna lash out and attack I feel sorry for both women because at the end they both didn't end up with him and one died not knowing she was in a love triangle. One thing I know is never date a Cop, they know your business too well, and they can become very possesive and controling. Lesson to be learned is do your background check on the people you let in your life, before you become a statistic, be smarter LADIES AND GENTLEMEN.

I also watched snapped and it hurts to see 2 beautiful African American women lives come to an end. But although I believe for the most part that Shannon is guilty due to the evidence presented, one thing puzzles me... how the hell did Shannon know where Denita lived????

what a bizarre love triangle! Just messed up, especially for his part. But that's the way that it goes and it's what nobody knows...just how confused and convoluted this situation was.

Here is hoping that anyone who reads this post will go to the link above and SUPPORT JANET and those of us who feel the time did not fit the crime which she should have been charged with, instead of what they said she was GUILTY of...

This was indeed a MISCARRIAGE OF JUSTICE****
