Woman Finds Python In Washing Machine - Family News Story - WRC...
#1 Jul 20, 2008
I am not sure I buy all the details in this story. I have an 1800's farmhouse. The pipes are not big enough for a snake of more than inch or so in diameter to travel through. To get into the washing machine through the pipes is darn near impossible given the workings of how the water travels from the water source into the tub. These snakes are getting in the houses through some other entry point and making their way to the water source hiding place. In case someone out there thinks that I don't know what I am talking about, I've removed 3 snakes from my house in the 7 years I've lived there. Two of them were relatively small, about 14 inches long and around 3/4 inch in diameter and the 3rd was closer to 2 feet and about an inch in diameter. The 4th, approximately 5 feet long, removed himself after the efforts of a professional snake trapper failed.

The snake was probably hungry and looking for food.
