Black Cats Basketball

My brother and I were discussing Karnak and Southern IL high school basketball the other night and I remembered a guy named Parrish who played for the Goreville Black Cats years ago. If my memory serves me correctly he was a prolific scorer (sometimes 50-60 points a game). This had to be in the very early sixties because I remember watching him play Karnak Red Raiders and we had 3 men assigned to guard him with no luck at all. Seems like he had long blond hair combed back and it flopped when he played. I ended up playing for Karnak and Century but will always remember him as a very impressive scorer. Any info on stats and years would be appreciated for further discussions with my brother. We also were discussing the talent that Joppa used to accumulate. Thanks in advance. Max

Bill, went to school in early 60's, ACE #1 basketball player, friend and all around oustanding person.
Another player who was outstanding was Noel Francis, Set state scoring record in late 60's. I think 1968.
Hope this helps,

Thanks Everett; I did go to the IHSA records and saw that Bill Parrish scored 58 and 50 points in 1964 agains Alto Pass. I'll see what I can find on Noel Francis...thanks again, Max
