want to thank many out there for bring Fazolis to our children at school! It might be taking a chunk out of my wallet but it is well worth it! It is sad that the state makes these school cafeterias serve some of the stuff they do, so I am very thankful to the ones that got this started!! My children are very satisfied, and dont come home hungry because they have actually ate at school!!!!
Sad days

The state doesn't want to pay for lunches anymore. They are requiring the most crappy so called healthy foods that just gets thrown away and kids are still hungry. So anyone that wants to complain can call the state. I am glad they brought Fazolis to school my child too is no longer hungry. I wish the state was really concerned about the kids instead of the budget some kids only get food at school so sad the state is leaving the kids hungry!

Why can't the kids who get free and reduced lunch get the Fazolis??? Don't think it is fair to those kids. And how healthy can all those carbs be??? Not to mention the cheesecake??

Because it is alcarte is not free the state can't regulate alcarte. If you don't like it complain to the state not the school or kitchen. Alot of people doesn't realize the state is the problem. Just glad the school brought them in to give the kids a choice. I will give up what ever i can to see my children can eat what they want. I might even give up shopping at the lions den oh maybe not

Everybody knows Goreville is about sports so they will be fine more energy. Lots of exercise to work off that cheesecake and carbs.

How are they not concerned about education as well? Goreville has some of the highest testing scores for the area. I'm sorry that you do not like the fact that they offer the cheesecake and carbs to the kids, but that is just it....it is offered not forced on anyone. If you do not want your child(ren) to have them then that is your choice and it should be respected as should the parent that chooses to let their child have it everyday if they want. I think we all need to be able to parent our children the way that we see fit for our families and quit griping when someone does it differently than we do. Also, we should stop blaming everything on someone/something else (ex. the school), if our kids are over weight perharps we as parents should be out with our kids playing and exercising with them and not leave it up to the school's recess and pe hours to take care of it!

I am getting so sick of everyone trying to blame school for kids obesity. The school supplies 2 meals to children for 5 days and parents the rest of the time. How does this always turn into a negative debate? If parents gave a damn about their children they would monitor what they ate and when. I know for a fact that children dont order cheesecake or cookies or cake everyday. Fazolis is offered as a "option" not what they have to have everyday! Get your facts straight or quit being completely ignorant and opening your mouth when you have no clue of what you are talking about!

So if i send a note saying what I want my kid to eat they will make sure I GET TO PICK what they eat??? I highly doubt it!! My kid packs her lunch EVERY DAY cuz she says the school lunch sucks and the milk tastes HORRIBLE!!! I have heard that about the milk from several adults also.
Nobody is blaming the school, just think it was a dumb idea.
just a suggestion

point proven....when the principal offers a "pizza party" to all the high school students who attend a volleyball game when several of them have tests the following day, shows that sports means more than education!

Can't make everyone happy. Maybe those that have such issues with the school should look into moving elsewhere. Perhaps another school would love to bend over backwards to make you happy.

Goreville school is full of amazing teachers, athletes, and academically excelling students, I moved my child back to Goreville before she started school so that she could go to Goreville School. Do some of you not realize that 80% or more of the teachers there were "athletes?" Clearly they are concerned about education. Students can't participate in the athletic program if they don't maintain a certain GPA. When a child/student is involved in an athletic program they are more likely to stay out of trouble. Goreville is very proud of the baseball and softball teams this season. And if you think that Fazolli's is causing your kid or kids to be fat, then why don't you put them in an athletic program, and join the cult of uneducated, sports fanatics??? Or if you don't like it, then your in the wrong town!! Welcome to small America!!!

Never said my kid is fat...my kid's are not overweight. Just think it is a joke. Kids with straight D's can still play in sports, only F's stop it, big joke.
