illinois license plates

why are there so many illinois license plates on cars of those who live in jackson & cape MISSOURI?

because illinois taxes are lower. people are good at scamming, dont ask how they do it but I know someone that does and they use a family members address.

well my car is actually in my mom and dads name, they live in illinois, therefore the plates are illinois plates. i dont see what the big deal is anyway! is it really hurting you to see my illinois plates? PLEASE explain to me what bothers you about this!

If you live in missouri you need to pay missouri taxes and have missouri plates. It is ILLEGAL!!! That is why the ask for your proof of address and drivers lic. they need it to be missouri.

If your parents live in Illinois then it is perfectly legal to title the vehicle in illinois since the car is registered to them. It is not illegal to be driving the car around Jackson. They do not ask for your proof of address. They ask for your proof of insurance. The cops could care less where you live. Once they pull you over they will see that your parents own the car and that the insurance is in your name.

no honey..my car is not in my name..so it CANNOT be licensed to me. sorry, not illegal! i have gotten pulled over for my plates before, nothin a cop can do if the car isnt mine..my parents basically just loan it to me to drive! anything else?

oh nooooo...jackson residents cant drive! i dont know where you guys took lessons but my goodness! im scared to leave my house most days, just wondering when the accident is gonna happen from one of you! i mean a couple of weeks ago it was raining and there where not one BUT two wrecks coming from jackson goin into cape! and they werent even a half a mile from eachother! that should tell you something right there and all FOUR cars had missouri plates...

If we jackson drivers cant drive according to you, then why dont you go live back with your mommy and daddy where that car of theirs belong in ill..since you are soooo "scared". Jackson drivers are just fine to me EXCEPT when it rains. I do agree with you there, when it rains, they go nuts and lose all control. And i have lived here in jackson for almost 7 years now. I do hate to drive here when it rains

i pay for my car, i pay the insurance, i pay all of my bills, so why would i need to go live with my mom and dad? i just didnt have good enough credit to put the car in my name. and i live in jackson because it is safer, crime wise, than cape. cape is the new east st louis! so i think i will stay in jackson with the high utilities and the crazy rainy day drivers!

and i dont live in illinois because its too far from my place of employment! no, there is no jobs in southern illinoi unless you go to anna or carbondale, and ill pass on that!

Oh I see the crazy ppl came out over the weekend to comment...I never said the cops ask for proof of address dumba$$!!! LOL When you pay your property taxes or renew your tags they do ask you to bring a piece of your mail to verify your address. Why do you think they do this? I dont think it is to drive by and see how nice your home looks! LOL

I am originally from Cape and I married a guy from Illinois, and moved there! Let me tell you its not just Illinoisians who can't drive it is anywhere you go!

Ok ms cocky from scott city...you may call the missouri department of revenue and ask for that information or they do have a website. They also do ask for proof of address at the license bureau when you register your vehicle and your personal property tax. I also know many insurance companies that would not pay damages after finding out your vehicle is used by you in missouri but your parents have everything in illinois in their name. That is also on the website of many insurance companies. You have 30 days from moving to change your info with them. There are laws against many things that may save money but are still illegal!! Such as applying for food stamps in missouri while living across the bridge in east cape. Yes it may be closer and yes you may want to shop at cape grocery stores so why not come to cape and apply? well guess what...ITS ILLEGAL!!! Anything else I may answer for you?? And when you call missouri department of revenue, like I have, I would love to see that black unicorn! LOL
