I'm a paramedic with Berkeley County EMS, part of Summerville is in our county and the other part is served by Dorchester County EMS. Both are very good services. As with EMS, the fire department would depend on where you live. They do respond to calls with EMS, usually arriving before EMS because there are more fire stations than EMS stations. Many times there will be a paramedic or emt on the fire response team, even without one the firefighters are equipped and trained in basic life support/cpr/aed use. As for the best neighborhood, I have trouble with that question because I can't really think of a bad neighborhood. I hope this helps and if you have any further questions please don't hesitate to ask.

I can only speak for BCEMS...The hourly rate goes from 10.85 up, depending on experience, with annual merit raises...but the benefits, to me at least, make it well worth the lower hourly rate...Call volume depends on what truck you're on that month...County wide, 11 trucks, I'd say we run 30-45 calls per 24 hour shift...we work 24 on and 48 off for full-time, part-timers can do 12 or 24 hour shifts...are you in ems?

Daily Horoscope for December 10

Libra

How is your Christmas shopping coming along? This is a good day for doing a little bit more of it, and your eagle eyes will spot some interesting items if you're looking for unusual gifts. It might help to take someone along to keep you company or to arrange to meet them afterwards. You'll be inspired to write some letters to put inside your Christmas cards if you haven't already sent them off.
