I think that Blake Hagwood would make a fine addition to our city council. He's young, intelligent, and has a lot of experience dealing with difficult situations. He has my vote and I look forward to him guiding this great city into the future.

I had worries about him being only 26 years old, but after speaking to this young man and hearing everything he has gone through in Iraq and in life, I have the utmost confidence that he is the best candidate to help us over the next years. I fully support Blake and hope everyone else will, too.

I also agree with the previous comments. Blake Hagwood will without a doubt have one of my votes. However, I believe the dedication that John McCants has given us deserves a re-election. I would also like to see Rebecca Carter take the third seat. I believe that would give us some diversity on the council and maybe they will begin to see things from a new perspective. The chemistry would be great and I would love to see this group lead us for the years to come.

Can anyone tell me anything about the candidate, Hector Alvarez? All I know about his political career is that he has run and lost in the last several city council elections. He stands on the fact that he never misses a council meeting, but there are quite a few that never miss. What does he have to bring to the table? I'm just curious, and I don't want to make a choice unless I know a little more about him.

Thanks

Mr. Hagwood is the one I would like to see in office the most out of all the candidates. I think it is time to pass the leadership reins off to to the next generation.

I'm not sure about the others, but Jerry Tekac has my vote. As far as the other two votes, I'm probably leaning towards Blake Hagwood and John McCants. I don't think Mrs. Carter is quite ready to do the job and I don't think Hector Alvarez would do much more than show up.

I disagree with the last comment. I think Rebecca Carter is what we need on the council. I would like to see new faces and a new perspective on the council, so I think she, Jerry and Blake will have my votes.

Linda,
Why do you think we should vote them all out? Three of the seats won't be up for re-election for another couple years. Only John and Sal are re-running right now. Jerry, Rebecca and Blake are all new candidates. Do you not like any of the candidates?

I'm ready to see some new energy and ideas coming from our cities leadership. The old adage we can grow but keep the city as it used to be doesn't cut it. We can't stop the growth so lets make it asd plesant as possible and accomaodate our citizens so we can keep our money to cover the growing expenses in our own town. We are not going to be Mt.Pleasant or Hilton head nor do most of us want to be but we can be progressive and still be a hospitable business friendly city. Jerry would be a good start in adding some new blood.

Heck with the new salary ,we may even get someone that can afford to run for mayor next time around. I love our town but we do need to look at the total picture.

I'll vote for the first person who can figure out how to synchronize the stop lights on 176 so traffic can move. We've already become another Mt. Pleasant with the traffic flow.

I just want to say congratulations to John, Jerry and Sal. Each of them deserves to be on the council and are all good men. I whole heartedly believe that we are looking at the beginning of our town making a turn for the better. We still have a few steps to take, but we will get there. Thank you again to all that supported me and hopefully we will get there next time, but in the mean time I'm definitely going to stay involved so that we can continue to move in the direction that we want to.

Well, you are wrong. Mrs Carter would be a great asset to our city council. She is an awesome person and cares deeply for our community. She wants to see Goose Creek grow and stay clean. She is ready to make Goose Creek the number one city in the Low Country in which to live.

A vote for Rebecca Carter is a vote for the betterment of Goose Creek.

We need some youthful thinking on our city council. Our city is growing and we need some a change in our council. A woman would be a great addition to the coucil. She has a great outlook for the growth of our fine city.

Rebecca Carter will make a great councilwoman.
