Sep 25, 2009 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: AZCentral.com

Before Marcia Powell, there was Vanessa Griego. Powell died from heat-related causes on May 20, a day after she spent nearly four hours exposed to the sun in an outdoor cage at Arizona State Prison Complex-Perryville prison in Goodyear.

i think it is totally stupid for anything to be left out in the arizona heat.let along a human being.without shade or water. this is a criminal act. all people involved should be charged with negligent homicide.

I Know want happen to that inmate was not right because she was mentally ill they knew that. Even if she refused water knowing she has mental illness they should have had a psychologist out there right away. Also it's true about the C.O.'S all they do on their shift is flirt with inmates. also a few( most of them) abuse their authority with inmate and there isn't anything you can do even if you speak to higher up authority. they made sure you keep your mouth shut by getting other inmate to do their dirty work for them.Plus there is no rehabilitation! There are some inmates believe or not trying to be a better person and there is no support what so ever. so this is some of THE TRUTH about perryville prison. And for the warden she is a joke!!!!!!!!!!

My daughter is in Lumley Unit R&A. I have heard so many horror stories about Perryville, I am actually afraid for her in there. Can someone be honest.

My Granddaughter's mom will be there next week from Cottonwood. I am so worried about her going to Perryville. She wants her GED, and to better her situation but it sounds like a pipe dream...
