I was on a bus ride to the NoDak Badlands some years ago. And I stopped overnight in Steele. Awesome. It gave me an idea for a story about people stranded in Steele in the wintertime. :) I got some very interesting and unusual stories about the countryside from the motel folks in the middle of the night because I don't spleep soundly on any trip. And then the next day, which was between Xmas and New Years, I had a great talk with a farmer about the town. In all, it was a fabulous experience.

The town was named for a Steele family. I knew the Steele family. They owned a laundry and dry cleaners in South Dakota.

Oh yeah? It's a very interesting town. They have one big old fashioned motel at the end of Main Street. And then that motel right off the highway where people catch a bus.

Would be a fantastic location for a winter movie!!!

From what you say, I think a winter trip sounds great across the broad expanse of North Dakota.

Sounds great to me. Y'know mfrs and big biz in general are missing a fantastic opportunity in moving to North Dakota. And I'm not talking about the cluster fugging in Fargo. I'm talking moving an entire corporate headquarters to some town like Pettibone NoDak. Land is cheap and there is a LOT of it.

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Cancer

It's a sensational Full Moon in your sign, combined with a lunar eclipse! Holy cow! However, once you accept that even the best-laid plans could go awry today, you'll find that life is a lot easier to cope with. Try your hardest to take everything in your stride, even if you do have to rethink an arrangement at the eleventh hour. At least it's never a dull moment! Do your best not to let the tensions of the day spoil what promises to be some spectacular New Year's Eve celebrations. It will be an opportunity to let off steam. Have fun!
