Legislature fails to deal with 293 parcels on delinquent tax roll
After a court removed 293 Tellico Village properties in delinquent tax status from public auction to prevent Loudon County from paying Property Owners Association assessments on the depressed lots, the properties will likely stay in their current status since a piece of legislation attempting to address the dilemma appears defunct.

This is BS because Loudon County should have to pay. Tellico Village taxes contribute so much towards the Loudon County schools and new schools. Village residents have no children using these schools. We pay 33% of all the taxes in this county. Now they should have to pay these delinquent dues. Do your part Loudon County.

You should have known that when you moved here and saw the area. It's ok to pay the POA for their outrageous spending but not the county?

I don't like paying either one but all of us have already paid our higher property taxes to the county. They need to pay their fair share now. All there is to it. If we don't pay our property taxes, they would foreclose on our home. It is time the county pays UP their share.

I would rather the county keep their money to spend on the county. If the POA got it they would just p*ss it away.

The Villager's/POA want the County to pay $29,300 per month because the County had to foreclose on delinquent Property Taxes to the County.
The Village knew that Capital Source - Paradiso, formally the Bank to NRPI, took those properties back from them in December 2009.
These 293 lots are just a portion of the 750+ delinquent lots within the Village from all owners who have stopped paying their monthly fees.
The County "should not" be liable to the POA for any monthly dues. Read these to see if you agree or not:

750 lots is 12.5% of the total number of lots in this place. Doesn't the Board know their exalted manager, whom they trust explicitly, and pay $200,000 per year, has got Tellico Village into such a financial mess? Anytime you have over 10%of properties in default you an consider the development is in trouble.
