After 911, I realized there would be annual memorials for victims of this horrible event in our great country's history. But what about the living Fire and Rescue Workers who run into burning buildings every day when we are running out?
That is why I organized, promoted and paid for the first annual Celebration of Fire and Rescue Workers by organizing and promoting Deer Creek Cruising Classics on September 22, 2002, just 11 days after the anniversary of 911 to raise funds for Volunteer Fire and Rescue Workers.
This year, I am proud to announce that Deer Creek Cruising Classics is now a corporation in good standing, with a wonderful new web site currently being constructed to spread our cause. In various forms, many others across the country, have started their own form of Celebration Fund Raising for Volunteer Fire and Rescue Workers Everywhere. The Fireman's Boots are being passed out at many other events and I am proud to be a part of this wonderful cause.
Deer Creek Illinois, thanks to many wonderful volunteers, have kept the Deer Creek Cruising Classics Car Show and Celebration of Fire and Rescue Workers Event alive, raising moneys for their own Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company.
Whether or not this continues to move forward in Deer Creek Illinois relys heavily on local volunteers and community support. But regardless, Deer Creek Cruising Classics, also known as Deer Creek's Cruizin Classics, will continue to move forward in other locations in various ways, as we raise funds for Volunteer Fire and Rescue Workers Everywhere.

On September 2nd, 2008, just 12 days before the Non Profit Celebration of Fire and Rescue Workers Festival was to be held, the Village of Deer Creek Illinois voted to Block and Deny Access to this wonderful 7th Annual Event stating that they did not want a lot of Hells Angels Types coming into their town. All because we added a large Deer Creek Motorcycle Jamboree to the event this year.

This whole thing is nothing but a pipedream of Tom Rogers,(certified nut).
Rogers has been out of the picture for several years. He recently got off probation and went back to some of the same nutty stuff we all know him for.
He supposedly made all kinds of plans for a motorcycle and car show that would last for 3, 2, or 1 day,(depends where you read about it on the internet).
He advertised a flea market, beer tent, motorcycle jamboree, carshow, vendors, food. All kinds of things without inquiring where this would be held. He spoke with the Deer Creek Village board 2 weeks before the proposed events. He never met with any village merchants, never considered sanitary facilities, cleanup, security, traffic control, etc. He wasn't able to supply liability insurance. He had no volunteers.
What he did do is ruin a yearly event Deer Creek normally has each year in September.
Deer Creek was doing so well without this character. As of lately he has encouraged everyone he invited to this bogus event to drive through Deer Creek on Saturday September 20.
I think it's a great idea! After driving through town they should all go to Tom's home address at 109 Cottonwood. Oaklawn trailer court in Morton, Illinois.
Maybe Tom will puts some brats on the grill and offer a cold beer to everyone he misled or duped into showing up.

Attention Ralf N. A Cowardly Soul in My Opinion who posts without a last name and posts absolute lies and slander without any idea of current events.
Deer Creek Cruising Classics, Inc. is a fully authorized legal corporation in good standing within the State of Illinois, of which, I personally orginally founded in 2002 and Incorporated in 2008. Such copyrighted tradenames, and material which was paid advertising out of my own personal funds dating back to that time. Such monies kept this annual event moving forward in the Village of Deer Creek from 2002 all the way up thru 2007, with such copyrighted names that I owned used by individuals who I accepted as volunteers thru that period of time.
This year, after the Village of Deer Creek continued to advertise my event on their own Nationally Advertised Web Site, I set out in January of 2008 to increase advertising for this event with more of my own personal funds that I invested into the corporation at that time.
I brought in Mr. Scott Newman, to organize a Motorcycle Jamboree. I brought in Mr. Mike Kendred, a Federal Officer and Musician to be a Band Co-Ordinator. Sandra Griffin of Springield stepped forward as another Volunteer. Then Randie Dwall stepped forward. The Village of Deer Creek Illinois Village Board raised the Insurance, which we had arranged, from 2 million to 5 million at the last minute, and we arranged that, and provided the Village Board two Insurance Arrangements to choose from. I personally offered $5,000.00 gaurentee to cover an clean up issues that might take place after this event. And, even the Village Board meeting one week before it was voted against, the Village Board was still in favor of not cancelling the event we all had planned for the largest part of 2008. We had JD McGee Sound Sytem under contract with a paid deposit to provide music for the 7th Annual Deer Creek Cruising Classics Car Show, had arranged and purchased Dash Plaques to give out at the event to Classic Car Owners. We had give aways and items for raffling off to raise money for the Deer Creek Fire Protection District #1. Volunteers names and phone numbers were published on our web site at that time. We had arranged a total of 41 Craft and Family Activity Type Vendors, plus 4 Food Vendors for the event, all of which have asked to be notified where it will be held next year so they can attend dispite what happened this year with the Village of Deer Creek's Board Voting to Block the event 12 days before it was take place.
So before this Mr. Ralf Nobody opens his mouth long distance, maybe he best be very careful of slandering a wonderful event. As far as my own Character, I'm a Christian, and forgive him for it.

everything that Ralph N stated was absolutely true this guy at one point was sitting outside his house trying to dump gas on himself for one reason or another before being put into jail. everyone in town was looking forward to this before he ruined it.. thanks buddy, for nothing.

p.s. Why would he put his last name.. what good does it do you to know who posted it. stop trying to make out like DCCC is some HUGE corporate event it's a small town and until everything is done the way everyone in the town wants it (the way it should be) this event will not take place.

I really do not understand what happened here. But the back biting and slander will not give your area a good name.
Where were the "Christians" when this man needed you? You know, we are not perfect, but we are to strive to love our fellow man as Jesus does. And I read that this was a Christian area! Ok, So, does that mean that every time a human being has a problem of some kind in their life, that you will now be Judge?!
We are all individuals and human beings with feelings and life in us. There is nothing worse than someone who says they are your friend and then turn their back when you get down. How many of you were there for support for this man when he needed a friend? Can you answer that? How many of you went to God in prayer for this Man?
Are you a greedy people and when A person needs help, you discard them and slander them by even posting on the internet. My friends, I am ashamed of what I have read and I do not know any of you. But I can promise that I will remember you in my prayers. God loves all of us as we are, and Christian fellowship is for us to be able to lean on each other when we need it, not bash each other. I do not hate any of the people who have posted comments here. I just pray that you will seek to try and undo what has been done. And please seek God's gudance for this. Mr. Rogers is a human being and it is not for us to take the role of the enemy, we need to take the role of friend and protector and prayer warriors for our community.
