Report raises questions about Minnesota gang member registries

There are 77 comments on the TwinCities.com story from Dec 1, 2009, titled Report raises questions about Minnesota gang member registries. In it, TwinCities.com reports that:

Should there be a law enforcement database with nearly 14,000 names of people who may have hung out with gang members or been photographed with them but aren't confirmed gangsters themselves? If someone is misidentified as a gang member, how can that person get removed from the list? Should there be concern if gang databases disproportionately ...

you are right but how could you go wrong with these fine upstanding role model Rap Artist's such as Snoop doggy dog, Lil Wayne, 2Pac (deceased), Ice Cube, Mack 10, Too Short, Nas, Big Pun, Easy E, Dr. Dre etc..... Or the many many Basketball players, or remember when football star Ray Lewis was brought up on murder charges?? The list is endless. I would venture to guess that at least 80% of the Basketball players in the NBA were at some point either in gangs in their youth or ARRESTED at least once. And I got news for you, however wrong & immoral "white collar" may be it will never ever compare to what these young gangbangers do on a daily basis.
HAHAHAHHA.80%?! Look son, you sound like an ignorant fool who's really jealous of all the money these athletes are making. White collar crimes don't compare? Well I think committing fraud and stripping BILLIONS OF DOLLARS from people who have worked hard their entire lives is much WORSE.

What posts were you reading? There were plenty of posts going after this white dipstick who poached that deer in Cannon Falls. You did not even look at that thread about the poacher, because you only gravitate toward a thread that might fit your political views. The difference is people like you look for racism in every topic, but only see it when something is said about a minority. Start reading between the lines and providing excuses for african-american gangbangers behavior.
HHAHAHAHA. I'm glad you're mad. LOL.

So much talk about minorities and how bad they are in this forum. You tell me what's worst... Gang members going around stealing cars and robbing people or guys like Madoff committing fraud and stealing BILLIONS of dollars. Tell me which is the bigger loss to society. Think twice before assuming minorities are a bigger burden to society.
Madoff is in prison while tens of thousands of gang members aren't. Madoff is done commiting fraud while tens of thousands of gang members aren't. I'd say the gang problem is "worst".

The whole point that everyone is trying to make here is that "WE ALL HATE BAD PEOPLE." White/Black/Brown/Yellow, I hate you if you're bad. White/Black/Brown/Yellow, I like you if you're good. I hate bad people...I like good people. This is easy isn't it? Smile and have a good weekend!

That is because your 4% does 55% of the crime.
There would be no crime in our area if there were no blacks.

If you really want to put the gangs out of business, then take the business out of gangs by ending drug prohibition. It's a lesson that should have been learned from the so-called Noble Experiment of alcohol prohibition---except that Americans don't know their own history and politicians especially can't help repeating the same mistakes over and over. They pass unenforceable laws and then ask the police and courts to enforce them. If you want crime, corruption, violence, disrespect for all laws, and infringement on the rights of ALL citizens, then keep cheering for the corrupt Gang Strike Force ... and its next reincarnation, and the one after that and the one after that. If you don't want to figure out a less harmful public policy instead of prohibition, then you are guarantee to have more gangs and gang subculture. As for the notion that "if you don't do anything wrong you don't have anything to worry about," I'd like to hear you all repeat that foolish comment when the Legislature outlaws tobacco, because that's the direction we're headed in. As Mark Twain said, "Nothing so needs reforming as other people's habits." I heard on the radio today that police were going after non-seatbelt-users because they take that as a signal of DUI behavior. Maybe right, maybe wrong---but more and more, the idea is that if something is unsafe or unhealthy, just make it into a crime. Pretty soon, as Woody Guthrie put it: "Everything's against the law." And you right-wingers ought to be paranoid, too, because what if your precious "Tea Baggers" get classified as a "gang?"

You need some spelling lessons before you call other people "illerate." I suppose you "probaly" realize that those gonads you are so obviously lacking yourself are called "testicales" but the correct spelling is "testicles." Talk about illiterate cowards: go look in a mirror. And I mean it about the coward part. I always post using my own name because I stand behind what I write. 90% of the people posting these comments hide behind internet anonymity so they can spout off their bigotry, show off their ignorance, and avoid personal responsibility for the half-baked opinions they utter. As for "GLOCK," there is a Freudian pseudonym for you! It would be hard to find a more clear-cut case of neurosis arising from a feeling of phallic inadequacy.

You got to be one of them DFL'ers (Dumb Fuc888g Liberals) My spelling may not always be correct but I don't advocate legalizeing drugs so the gangs will behave. You are the cowaed, give them what they want and then they will want more. I work in apprison and actually deal with these POS eveyday, and have for many years. You have ptobaly never been upclose and personal with these gangbangers, I have. Youmay call me a coward, but i survive in setting you would not have the BALLS to enter. You talk about SHIT, I work with it. I hope someday you are in a situation where you can show people how you "stand behind what you write". I was not joking about them being cowards and wanting some live fire practice. Now go take your meds, clean your rose colored glasses, congratulate yourself on how "tough"you are and lay down by your dish.
