Well I signed up for online banking on Tuesday and good thing I did b/c as I am scrolling through some purchases I've made I notice that earlier in the day a Bargain Network took out 29.80$
hhhmmmm, I said to myself, what was that? I have not went anywhere today & my husband has not used his card.
I use my debit card alot & I make lots on online purchases.
So, I call the bank thinking this is something I bought and I forgot what it was.( Bad Memory ) All the bank knows was a Bargain Network in California debited my account for 29.80$ and gives me the phone number.
I call & I was asked to enter my phone number to pull up my account.
So I do, not really thinking I have an account with these people, but I must because they are helping themselves to my bank account.
SO, after 20 minutes of waiting in which I was told someone would be with me within 1-2 minutes LIE #1 !! go figure....anyway, I get through to some girl with an attitude. I say yes, can you please tell me what I have purchased through your company. She says yes mam, you signed up with us on April, 10th 2008. I said okkk, what is this company? She says you have signed up for an automotive subscription...after a few moments I say..no I did not mam....why would I need/want an automotive subscription?? She says yes you did, and I said well, I have not received any email confirmation, no phone calls, & nothing has come to me in the mail. I have been completely oblivious to this so called automotive subscription I signed up for...thinking to myself, well maybe today's fee for 29.80$ was like an annual fee for the subscription, she proceeds to tell me that they have charged my account 29.80$ every single month on the 26th since April 2008. I said well today is the 3rd why have you charged it today? she said well we tried to charge in february but your card declined it so we ran it again and so I say WELL YOUR JUST GOING TO PING IT AND PING IT over and over again until it goes through then!! and she says yes mam..HUH!!

ok, I say I want this account canceled and canceled NOW!! I said you better get your dirty little fingers out of my bank account right freaking NOW! I proceeded to tell her that I have 2 small kids to feed and my land rigger husband has just been laid off and this company has been charging my account 30$ a month without my knowledge, what kind of shady business thinks they have rights to my personal bank account???? and she then tells me, in a rather smart alec tone, well mam, it's not my fault your not paying attention to your bank statements, she also says I have a child too and I pay attention to my bank statements! I said WHAT!, I told her first of all it was NO ONE'S business how I tended to my bank statements and the REAL POINT was this company had been stealing from me for almost a year!!!! I said, well NO WONDER THERE HAVE BEEN FUNDS UNACCOUNTED FOR! my husband is accusing me of being an over spender and can't keep up with our money....when all along the money was being taken by BARGAIN NETWORK!!
well live cent to cent, we have no savings and we cherish every dime we have, so be taken like this is gut-wrenching, I told the lady on the phone, My account better be canceled and if my account was charged one more time I would be contacting a lawyer!

she gives me a confirmation # which I am not too sure, if that has anything to do with anything considering where was the confirmation # when I supposedly "signed" up with this company and where were the confirmation #s when they debited my account every single flipping time????
I told her to email that confirmation # to my email and she say no mam we can't do that. I said oh H A H A ! well you can debit my account online and I supposedly have access to this auto subscription ONLINE YET YOU CAN'T EVEN EMAIL ME A CONFIRMATION #! I said, that's real funny - thank you - CLICK !
today ( Wednesday 3-4-09) I have called back and waited another 20 mins on the phone and was transferred to a SANDRA whose number is 11639 and was told that the last month money would be credited back to my account within 1-4 days...but that it should get back in there fairly quickly. I checked tonight, not there yet, and I told her I would be calling back if my money was not back into my account by the end of the 3rd day and she assures me my account has been canceled and gives me ANOTHER confirmation #( which im sure means as much to them as grass )
I now have a new card with my bank, the old one has been shredded....my old card and my husbands old card were both compromised.

I will no longer be buying ANYTHING online...
what happened to me was this company tapped into something else I have bought online.
Because I promise you now - I DID NOT SIGN UP FOR AN AUTOMOTIVE SUBSCRIPTION WITH BARGAIN NETWORK! NO WAY.
I had absolutely NO REASON what so ever to ever ever ever, even want to so much as think about looking into an ONLINE automotive subscription.
anyway, thats my story and im sticking to it, but I have a feeling I am not done with these people yet. They messed with the wrong mad white woman !
I will be posting to this to all my email addressees, my 3 community site I am members of as well as city forums!
peace out and good luck with these people, if you have been had DEMAND YOUR MONEY BACK!!!
You might have got me in the past bargain network - BUT YOU GOT ME YOUR LAST ! HAHAHAHAAH!

There is no need for the "service" Bargain Network provides. A short time of research will lead you to many sources for auctions of foreclosed property or seized vehicles, some of which are extremely useful. For example, we just bought a 1999 Chysler 300M for 1500 dollars (NADA value $3375) from a drug task force Website that is legit as can be.

Jake the Snake,
I'm ashamed to say that I actually worked for Bargain Network at their HQ in Santa Barbara a few years ago (I was staying in the States for a few months and needed some easy work with decent pay).
The place is the biggest scam I've ever seen. The fact that it operates is a desperate indictment of the U.S. regulatory system (esp Cali).
When you train there you are basically taught how to steal from people. It's a disgrace. I obviously stopped working there pretty quickly.
I feel awful for you, well done for changing your cards, it's the only viable option because they will keep charging you regardless.
PS - They train people to be rude on the phone by the way! if you're really rude, it's very hard for people to say 'no'....(true story)

I have 2 friends that work for BNI, one works in sales, and the other works in their so-called "customer service." (or as she calls it "explaining to people that they didn't read the fine print") Sadly times are desperate, my husband has lung cancer, and so I too will be working for the scam shortly. My friend in sales has suggested that if you want to get the listings the thing to do is to buy a cheap pre-paid card at CVS or Walgreens.. they come in small denominations and are in no way tied to your accounts. Call, let them take $1.99 off it and then treat yourself + a friend to lunch on the rest of it. Sure you can get the listings yourself if you want to devote a weekend to Googling but if you can scam the scammers it's worth the $2.

Best way of fixing this is denial of service attack . They charged me for four months just because their site doesn't allow you to cancel without active x running on IE... mozzilla chrome safari etc, the confirm button doesn't subiit -.-

DO NOT CALL!!!!
If you call not knowing, as soon as you hear them announce themselves as bargain network..HANG UP!!!!...its about the 4th or 5th company name they have had over the last ten years....GEEEz I wonder why??????LMAO.....

I just found out the total damage & Bargin Network has stole $280.00 from me! When conforting them on the phone their answers are so polished & they twist & turn everything back at me like I'm the dumb one. I feel that everyone who is a victem of their scams need to follow thru with anything & everything to take them out the game. I plan on filling out every form posible to try to make a diffrence & put these scam artist out of bussiness. Maybe I'll get no where but I feel its worth a try.

I just recently quit after working there for 1 month. The homes and auto programs is actually a decent way to find what you are looking for efficiently. You should definiently get a prepaid card.

What made the overall program to me a scam was the upselling portion. Sometimes I would not even do the upsell part. Other times I would tell people that they didn't have to get it.

Eventually, I quit because Bargain Network made me feel dirty.

GLAD I WAS SITTING AT MY COMPUTER!
My first clue was that he mentioned paying for shipping and handeling for a free trial. I got on google, found a few complaints about the company. When I first talked to him he told me that there were 1,264 cars for auction in my area, when I mentioned that I didn't feel good about giving my information all of the sudden that number went up to 6,456. At that point I hung up. These people are advertising on local TV and Radio stations, it's evil! They are steeling from people who can't afford new cars, and (like me) need to find a cheap car to keep my job!

Wow you are the exact kind of customer we hate signing up too... Obviously we didn't get your card number from a CC generator. As a former employee of BNI I can say you're wrong and your ignorance shows your deserved it.

We have a recorded call of someone claiming to be you and giving your card number out saying "Yes" or "OK" when asked if it's ok for us to charge your account every month until canceled.

The exact words of the script you agreed to were something like this:
"And the 9.95 a week will be charged from your account at the monthly total of 39.80 on WEEKDAY, MONTH DAY YEAR, and each month thereafter unless you cancel, and if you choose any unused weekly ammounts will be fully refunded. Now,(if it's a debit card) to confirm the order under the terms I just described and get your membership materials out to you, I just need to you to enter the last four digits of the card number that you just entered usuing your telephone keypad and these four digits will constitute your electronic signature and written authorization for purposes of debiting your checking account"
Then you dialed in the last four digits of your card and this was recorded and kept in file with the order.
Don't lie because you're a moron.
You didn't get scammed. You didn't know about searching on line for shit so you paid someone else generously to do it for you. Time is money and free trials ain't free for us to provide. Get over it.
The company is now closed. Peace.

BTW: If you had kept your card opene you would have eventually received a refund of 3x the weekly price. You signed up when the prices were actually cheaper. Recently it was 9.95/week and 39.80/month -- and the homes is even more expensive!

After finding out you've been charged 30 a month for that many years w/o knowing I'd say you are a complete and utter idiot and you deserved everything you got. Come on for a WHOLE YEAR?!

You're a deuche bag. Get your head out your ass. He gave you 2 diff. numbers for 2 diff. things. And you heard wrong it wasn't 1000 auctions. It was 100+ auctions within a 60 mile radius of your county and the 2nd number was the number of vehicles for sale by owner. You get both. The program may be garbage but many people call back saying they found a cheap car and they're happy with it. That's why you got a free 30 day trial. To see if your area has garbage listings or good listings. We don't put up the listings. People like your self do. We just provide the hotline and website. Plus we print and send you the listing which you can keep. I say WE because I used to work for the company.

Now when they ask you "is it ok for us to charge you in the ass" and they have a recording your voice saying "uhmmmm OK" and then they say are you sure we can keep charing your account over and over and over if you forget to cancel and you say "ok" then you have a pretty weak effin case.

I called Bargain Network after finding their ad in the paper because I was looking for a cheap car. I cancelled my suscription the same day after calling and I did not agree to any extra magazine or gift card deals they offered yet I was still charged $39.80 two days before Christmas. I just got laid off after working with a company since I was a sophomore in high school, my grandmother died, and now I can't even afford to pay my rent because of this scam!!!!!It is absolutely infuriating that the company is allowed to steal from hard working american. When I spoke to an agent on the phone on Dec.23 he told me how they were shutting down the company on Dec.30. I sympathized with the guy because he's gonna be out of a job now because of BNI. I've cancelled my debit card. I suggest that all who have been scammed contact the Federal Trade Commision and other anti-fraud bureaus to report that company. As for the ones who lie, manipulate and train others to the do the same....I am mostly Romanian and my gypsy family does not take kindly to wrong doings. And as for the employees who were working there as a means to survive and pay bills I wish you all find honest jobs elsewhere soon.
