The only reason that so many churches have "ecumenical" Thanksgiving services with several other churches is that the pastors and church leaders know that their churches would be virtually empty on Thanksgiving. The churches I have been involved with have one or two fully attended Thanksgiving services either on Thanksgiving Eve, Thanksgiving Day or both. We wouldn't have room to invite several other churches nor would most of our people go to other churches if we did not offer our own. Why is it that so many churches cannot muster enough members to attend a Thanksgiving service these days?
