I am completely behind Tracy for sheriff. The current method of doing things in this county is obviously not working. We have murderers on the street for the sole reason of poor investigation and laziness. We have drug dealers that never see the inside of a jail. Is this how we want our community to be taken care of? Personally I want someone that will take responsibility for the actions of his staff and be held accountable to the community itself, rather than a lame figurehead that nobody ever sees or hears from.

I LIKED SHERIFF BILLY BRYANT TO TELL U THE TRUTH... HE IS WAT THIS COUNTY NEEDS..... HE DID A GOOD JOB ON KEEPING LEE COUNTY SAFE AND NOW LOOK.. Is it justice that everybody that has a run in with the law is explosed on the internet for all to see,even befor being a fair court trial.Does this really help our county or its citizens.twice sherrif Carters son has had drug related issues with Sanford Police Department,how many of you knew about that.Why hasnt this information been posted for everyone to see.Sherrif Carters second in command Butler also in trouble with the law,but did he make the famous website,of course not.Does this county really want a sherrif that only tells you what he wants you to know.Sherrif Carter is more interested in making the paper or adding to his website than he is our county.Citizens of Lee County,when election time comes please dont make the same mistake again.We owe it to our ourselves and our children to make better decisions for our county.We deserve a sherrif that is interested in all aspects of law,not just drugs.We deserve a sherrif that doesnt coverup information that may reflect on himself.WE DESERVE AN HONEST SHERRIF !!!!! I believe Sheriff Carter is an honest man who acts in the best interests of all Lee County citizens. I have found Sheriff Carter's Newsletter - website www.tracycarter.blogspot.com extremely informative. In my opinion he has done an excellent job of utilizing the internet to keep the citizens of Lee County informed. I feel the website is a great tool for citizens to interact with the Sheriff's Department. My family and I support 100% the performance of the Sheriff's Department and in particular Sheriff Carter's handling of the challenges that have arise in the last year. We couldn't have a better person leading our Sheriff's Department.

SANFORD - A Superior Court judge has ruled that an August search by drug agents with the Lee County Sheriff's Office was unconstitutional and has ordered that drugs seized during the search not be admitted into evidence.
Judge Frank Lanier dismissed as evidence four ounces of cocaine and a small amount of marijuana which was seized on Aug. 7 from the home of Charlie Loy Pickard on Deep River Road.) This is just one example of this type of "police work", there are many more, only most don't make headlines like this one,cause the herald only prints what tracey wants them to. Lots of arrests are great, but they don't mean much when the cases are thrown out of court because the deputies 'muscle' their way into peoples homes and arrest them under false or illegal pretenses. I'd rather see a few GOOD cases that get convictions than a parade of arrests that never make it to trial. I read about all of the integrity, professionalism, etc. that tracey and his goons possess, but in reality they are just after numbers (arrests) no matter what the outcome in court.

I am glad tracy carter is sheriff.. He was an officer at lee senior when i went to school there 10 years ago he was good then and he only gets better with time......
