Tonopah area full of WWII history if you know where to look
Whenever I find myself driving on the solitary stretch of U.S. 95 outside Tonopah, I often wonder what the boom years were like.

In my one year of being station in Tonopah, I met a wonderful woman who I use to work part time for her in the skating rink, she was Toni Buffum she use to tell us about WW2 and regardless of what they say about her service time, she was still over there, I had the pleasure of visiting her in her home about a year before she passed away and we kept in contact by mail for quite awhile before I came out for a visit. She was one the greatest lady that I had ever met.....ps I was stationed in Tonopah in 56-57, and it was the most friendly town that I was ever station at...........and I will never forget the friends in Tonopah and the Air Force Bob Butts
