PepsiCo offers to buy 2 bottlers for $6 billion

Beverage and snack maker PepsiCo Inc. today offered to acquire its two largest bottlers - Pepsi Bottling Group and PepsiAmericas - for $6 billion in an effort to cut costs and become more efficient.

Lets talk about the company,who can care less about share holders that are employees. They tell you they have to lay you off to keep share holders happy but if you contribute to a matching 401k you are a share holder also. For pepsi gives your match in the form of stock which make you a share holder. Pepsi Bottling also has questionable practices that Pepsico should look into before buying. If they do an inventory audit they might find pepsi bottling making product and listing it on the inventory as something else. MMMMMMMMM I wonder why that would be. While i do not work for them I would be interested if this is true. I am sure the consumers would be interested also. I am sure unless an independant audit is done and not an in house audit we might never know anyway. With what happened to Enron and AGI is Pepsi above taking a look at. I think not. Be careful before defending your company if in fact you all actualy work for them. I wonder what postion you have with the company, It will not save our job if they want you gone.

I work at pepsi and you're right. The local management is always doing things to fool the new york brass. When the big wigs come into town, they're only shown the best retail stores. That is after the stores do us the favor of letting us set up big displays that come down as soon as the big shots leave town. Yeah, sometimes the inventory numbers are flexed so it looks like there are more of some upc.s
