Full story: TwinCities.com

The Hmong kid was young, perhaps 10 or 12, and the hand-lettered sign he held up as he stood along University Avenue was meant to get motorists' attention.

They should take this case to the supreme court?

Anybody remember the Rodney King story? Yes, that's definitely the same thing in this case.

Notice.

When you run from police, it puts them on high alert. You may possibly get tackled to the ground or even shot if certain circumstances exist. If you have done nothing wrong, stopping and speaking with the police should be no problem.

All depends on who the officer is. Speaking to an officer today can have many different outcomes. I have seen officers say hello, open doors for people as a matter of courtesy, even kick in a dime or two when someone was short of change. Then I have seen seemingly arrogant officers walk around with a scowl on their face, ignore everyone around them, turn on their emergency lights to get through a red light and leave a family stranded on the side of the road because writing a few tickets was more important. It is truly a mixed bag today.

While I agree that some offices are on power trips, especially some of the young ones, it still doesn't negate the fact "If you have done nothing wrong, stopping and speaking with the police should be no problem." So please do not to skew my comment to imply that I was saying all police are perfect because that is not the case. There is no need for a law abiding citizen to run from the police. Nothing more, nothing less.

In the Santoya case just what a week ago or so, why isn't everyone blaming his family for his being a pervert and a murderer? He has a brother that is a deputy and another one that is a prison guard? They were raised in the same house by the same parents, they must be to blame for raising a perverted killer too. I don't hear anyone complaining about that. If the parents and the family are always to blame, then they should be ostracized also.

The police don't stop you to chit chat. Even when they're being cordial, they're always digging for dirt. Knowing this, why would anyone converse with a cop when the cop initiated the contact? If a cop says to you "It's a nice day", the proper response is "I want a lawyer".

Note to criminals of all ages and all races.
When the Fuzz sez halt then halt.
When the Fuzz sez hands up then put your hands up.
When the Fuzz sez on the ground, then get on the ground.
If you follow these simple rules then you will not get shot.
If you break anyone of them you will be dealt with as determined by the Fuzz.
Tackled, tasezed, or shot.

Where was the Mong community when this PoS was taking the low road.
Who is the clown that put you up to this protest ****?
Why didnt you protest in Hanoi when the VC were killing your **** in Mongland?
Why werent you holding their signs when he was arrested the 1st, 2nd and 3rd time.
You're a little late on closing the **** barn door but keep trying, you may get it right, one of these days.
And by the way, "Stop or I'll shoot" means just that.

Some gangbanging piece of crap got shot running away from the police, he was WRONG. If it wasn't some minority import and there wasn't money involved, it would not get this much press. These parasites get a shot at "free money" and all hell breaks loose. Send them ALL back and balance MN's budget. The only thing they do is reproduce like rabbits to get bigger welfare checks.

We didn't free this country to see it become a police state. Shooting citizens in the back because they don't want to talk to you is not good for my America. If you like that type of behavior, I think the taliban is hiring.

Protest all you like, it just makes you look pathetic and trying to push the blame from the uninvolved, non caring family onto someone else. To the parents: if you want someone to blame, blame yourselves for being horrible parents. Stop trying to pretend you son was a good kid, he was trash and you let him be trash. You're fault alone.

Daily Horoscope for December 2

Cancer

The Gemini Full Moon triggers your twelfth house of subconscious matters, Cancer. Dreams you have during this time reveal much about your psychological state. If you have been under a great deal of pressure in your work or with health concerns lately, it's time to go on a spiritual retreat. If a vacation isn't feasible, consider turning off the television for a few days and enjoy the silence.
