City of Alton... Why move here and buy a house?
What motivation do have for people to move to Alton and buy a house?
Is it the High Crime rate, or *blank* backwards politics?
Or maybe all the abandoned house that are constantly being visted by homeless and prostitutes?
Alton has a lot to offer! Yet every time I talk to people about living in Alton. I have to explain why I live here.
Alton has a bad rap... Lets figure a way to make this city what it used to be and not what it has become!
I have lived here for 4 years in Alton and should be proud! But I'm NOT!

It's not just Alton. It's all of Madison county. Taxes, mainly property taxes, keep getting higher and higher. There are more rental homes in Madison county than homeowners. Tons of rentals = tons of welfare recipients = blighted county!

What does someone from the Peoria area (Germantown) know or care about Alton?
Alton was once a haven for well paying jobs. The wealthiest 1% took their jobs overseas where they can pay measly wages and pollute all they want. Want to end poverty? Deal with the 1%.
