Sending prayers to the family of these two young men. They have suffered twice the loss in this accidental tragedy. There is no need for ignorance or stupidity on these posts.

I'm sorry for the families.
But, most levelheaded people I know who fish for a living (or would like to), know you don't mess with rising waters and you don't fish when the waters high.
When will people stop thinking their car is invinsable and will make it thru any amount of water? It's too bad they lost their lives in such a stupid way.

And AH's like you prove that over and over. Don't you ever feel guilty for wasting good oxygen every time that you inhale?

There is some great fishing down in that area. They obviously made a huge mistake when they though that they could safely get thru a flooded roadway.

Isn't it a shame that everyone is not perfect like you? I find it to be amazing that without knowing these young men, AH's like you can make such asinine comments.

The area received more than 6 inches of rain. I figured the water would be very muddy and moving rapidly. What type of fish can you catch in these conditions. Maybe catfish????

There is a valuable lesson for everyone. If you are going fishing use a boat not a car.

Kudos to the Dispatch for getting the story in the right part of the state.
ONN -- Ohio News Now -- headlined on their main page that rain in southWEST Ohio caused flooding in Glouster.
Umm ... no.
Glouster is north of Athens, in the south EAST of the state.
But, then, as usual, ONN -- Ohio News Now -- fills their "Southeast Ohio" section with news from West Virginia.
Now, for the deceased:
Our prayers are with the families.
This tragedy highlights why authorities advertise that one should never drive through flood water.
Glouster floods easily and frequently -- I was a paramedic/police officer stationed out of that little ex-coal-mining town, back when I was young and skinny, and dinosaurs ruled the earth -- and it's easy for a local to think "I know where the road runs, I can make it."
It's not easy to understand the power of moving water until you experience it.

Think these are brothers, not cousins.
