Full story: Lowell Sun

The town is continuing to defy the economy, with the country's largest drive-in chain setting its sights on Main Street for only its second Massachusetts location.

When is enough, enough. Town leaders think of your constituents who are hard working individuals that travel up & down route 38, for a paycheck to pay taxes to live in our wonderful town. Main St has become "Neon Village" must we turn it into Rte 1.

Why are new restaurants concentrating on just this area? Wilmington has many other locations along with other towns.

Right? It will bring jobs, which is great. As for the people complaining about traffic, just go around rte 38 and travel down Glen Rd. to get to where you're going.

The food is overrated. When I was stationed out in KS they had these all over the place. It's a nice novelty, and the food is OK, but it's overrated. After about 6 months and everyone has been there once or twice it will die down to a normal amount of customers.

One thing that is very good there though are the Cherry Lime slushes they serve.

I do hope it goes in. It'll be a lot better than the gross "Ruby Tuesdays" they were going to put in Wilmington.

McDonalds, Burger King, Royal Dynasty, 99's, Rocco's, Simad's, Subway etc. are NOT upscale eateries.

Wilmington held out for decades,,, they didn't want to become like Route 38 in Tewksbury. The down fall started with Burger King in the 90's

All the traffic that already diverts off of 38 and down Glen Rd causes dangerous conditions for the children that live on and off of this road already. If Wilmington allows Sonic to move in, they better consider "No through traffic" signs and ENFORCEMENT. Not that it isn't needed already to keep traffic on Rt 38 and off the side roads.

Dracut had the A&W place on Lakeview Av, it was a carhop, it failed, now they sell plants there.

Dangerous for children who live on that road? They don't belong on the street, the cars do. Sorry, I disagree with you completely. Glen Rd. is a thru-way. In either direction. You can get to rte 62 and head to the highway or you can avoid the traffic in the other direction heading into Tewksbury. The way people drive these days while they're on their freek'n cell phones, makes every road a danger for pedestrians.
