Tappan Beach is in the Town of Oyster Bay.

Great! You eat them! Ask an Oceanographer about the results of trying to repopulate the oysters on the east end of the Lilco powerplant (Eaton's Neck) back in the day. Immensely huge, and green. Problem was water circulation, and pollutants from the south shore of Connecticut! Learn the water circulation, how and what affects that, and I think you would agree as to the consumption issue. As to the other three posts above, I would be glad to buy your first serving. I'd love to see this come back, but ask yourself why it has been gone for so long? Do you seriously think someone made the waterways cleaner? Crap washes up on most beaches pretty often. Be careful!

Why didnt Newscrap have some marine biologist give some input into this totally bogus enviromental stunt? All fish have restrictions from long island waters where it will take about 5 years to eat a 50 pound striper if you catch one, all our waters are totally polluted, dont eat this crap!

Excellent idea, big parking lots at either Tappan (Town of Oyster Bay?)and Bar Beach (Town of North Hempstead?). Then they could use the parking lot in Oyster Bay to build the Teddy Roosevelt Museum.
