C'mon Newsday. You call yourself a local Long Island newspaper but you routinely get the names and geography WRONG. Who proofreads/edits your copy and headlines???

They are banning parking in the area of the Oyster Festival to residents for nearly a 1/4 of the town, and not providing an alternative place for them to park. On top of this, they were notified by having fliers placed on their cars last night, rather than weeks ago. Complaining that it would hinder the foot traffic. Last year the cars were parked there, there was no issue. If your also annoyed by this, contact the Oyster Festival Committee here http://www.theoysterfestival.org/contact.htm

Oyster Fest used to be better when you were allowed to walk through the streets of Oyster Bay with open beers.
Everyone would get hammered, get into fights, puke behind buildings, it was great!
Then you would get in your car drunk out of your mind and try to make it down 106 without swerving into parked cars.
Ahh, the good old days!

Not to mention the local hotels were filled to NO VACANCY capacity as the drunk revelers were doing a little "clam digging" after the festival lights went out......

doing well, make sure to stop by the Islander forum today, all sorts of reading comprehension problems over there along with a dash of not paying attention.

NE Clam chowder, Clam Fritters, Fried Oysters, Clams on half shell, Pulled pork, Apple pie a la mode, crab roll, draft root beer, Frozen hot chocolate. Yes I had it all Saturday. From Pirates to Antiques and fantastic weather, this is always the bench mark of the close of Long Island fairs for the season, and is always the best. Hurry back Oyster Fest number 25. PS: There is one more day of the festival, see you there.
