Why does Glenwood still need a dog catcher?
IS he paid?I hope not because he does not seem to do this job very well.

In these tough times, especially under the OBAMA lunacy, not sure what the budget can absorb. If not a dog catcher, we do need some enforcement to deal with the many irresponsible dog walkers and unleased animals.

Police must be first priority. Disturbingly, we have some real dirtbags/felons living in the Point, particularly at the southeast section. Police are continually being called to one specific house infested with transients and loosers. They loiter on the driveway by day and walk the streets in the wee hours. I seldom them being challenged by the police.

The Glenwood dog catcher makes very little money - like I wanna say he makes a little over min wage. While I wish he was more available to residents (I know I have called the village about a stray dog or cat a couple of times and they sent the police to handle it because Paul (the dog catcher) wasn't working. While I'm not going to completely defend him, I do know that he is sick (I can't remember what it was possible cancer) and needs to take time off because of that. Because the village pays him so little, there is honestly no one else who would be willing to take the job. He is a good guy who honestly cares for the animals he picks up.....so while he might not be around that much - I don't think his salary would really make a differance in the scheme of things....the village has a ton of spending that they could cut and we would be able to hire cops instead of trying to lay them off.
