Yes, they're on lockdown. I got a letter from my fiance today, he said a lot of them are pitching a fit because the prison wants to put a third bunk in the cells. He said something about a hunger strike too.

They need to get off this high and mighty trip their on down there. These people don't realize that they are hurting the families too.

i really hate these da.. lock downs! our loved ones have it worse than we do. no showers or anything for them. my son even told me they have taken out the washers and dryers.this crap seems to be cruelty punishment to me!

They still get their clothes washed..they just can't wash them..they drop them off and pick them back up! What's so cruel about that? They aren't at Holiday Inn!! If they have all their wants met..what lesson will they learn from their incarceration? Needs and wants are two different things!! Get real!! You need to thank God they are alive!!

I'm sorry but this prison is something else, I got a brother in the state pen and he gets treated way better than my husband does at Gilmer. If they mess up my visit again I'm going to be mad, this is ridiculous. I really do agree with Brenda. They have to have something to still feel human and if you call that being alive locked in your cell 24 hours than something is wrong with you Marc, come to my house and let me lock you in a closet for days on end and see how you feel and if you still feel alive!

As I have said before, inmates have it way better there than u think... I understand u wanting to believe them because they are ur loved ones.... But not everything u are saying that they are telling u is true.....

hasaclue why do you keep pretending you know so much,do you think we would believe you over our family.most professional ppl would not be on this sight,so that tells me something about you.so if you know so much are they on lock down now and why,how long will they be,

Don't bother with him, Carol. He's an *sshole know it all who couldn't spend one day on the other side of the bars. He's probably one of the ones who sneaks drugs in and has the inmates blow him for payment.
Hasaclue...you need to get a clue. I understand there are some bad guys there, that's why they're in prison. But they're not all bad. Some of them are just trying to do their time peacefully so that they can get home. These are still human beings and should be treated as such.

And another thing hasaf*ckingclue, it doesn't matter if our loved ones are good or bad, honest or liars, they're our loved ones none the less and we don't need you telling us crap like that.

I say the things I say because they are true. My son is also there at Gilmer, he is treated well..that's all I have to base my opinion on.
