After reading the local paper.
I see the Town of Sutton is going to take a stand on stray cats, and get rid of them!!(good luck)
I applaud them for this..even though its a little late..they have damaged a lot of my property already...

the lady who i saw leaving cat food on the step at the abandoned building that is owned by craig smith should be fined. next time i see it, I will will take some photos and go to the city council, and hope she gets fined big time. If you like the cats that much to go out of your way to feed them, you can save gas if you take them home. so do it lady!!

The real issue remains that the owners of that many cats should be paying fees like an owner with a dog. for the stray ones, someone needs to tell that woman to either take them home, or quit leaving food on the abandoned building's step.

I agree that something needs to be done about the cats in sutton. Obviously the first thing that needs to be done is these cats need to be fixed. But telling a woman to take in a bunch of cats just because she feeds them is ridiculous. She shouldnt bring them home because then it would just turn into another case of animal hoarding. Not to mention if they are feral cats then she could get herself hurt. Dont trash a lady because she feed these cats. Yes, she shouldnt be feeding them because it does attract more cate...but at least she is doing something out of the kindness of her heart.

feeding the cats is the worst thing this lady can do, she is not helping them. this is just as bad as feeding a dog table scraps. let the cats alone, they will go back to their natural feeding habits, like catching mice, rats, and rodents. if you give your chidren everything, they will grow up to be spoiled brats, won't want to do anything, expect their parents to do everything for them, so yes , i suspect you are a spoiled brat, and couldn't survive on your own without someone giving it to you. I feed the cats on occasion, because we aren't allowed to have any, so I help some of the ones who haven't had a chance to have a good home. what are you going to do? call me a brat because i'm not cruel to animals?

Seriously though, you guys are completely ridiculous.

How about try to find some of the good ones a home first? Before you say "let's kill them all"
What about that makes you sound cool? Nothing. It makes you sound like a cold-hearted prick.

I see so much worse stuff going on in Sutton, and you guys want to bitch about the cats? It's great to see where your priorities are.

Silly me to think people in Sutton could possibly try to help something before they hurt it.

Not only does she feed the cats. I know she volunteers at the local food pantry aiding in helping put food on possibly your table and or your family and yet she is critized for this kind act of feeding a starving animal. I am to the understanding that she is all for capturing and relocating them, but cannot do this on her own, however she will not let them starve. So instead of critizing her kind heartedness, maybe you all should work together and make a plan, gather your resources and help eradicate the problem. It saddens me to see that the work of one is critized by many that won't stand and work toward a solution.

Oh ...So she is aiding to the Cat problem in Sutton...
They are a bunch of wild Ferrel Cats...Doing nothing but destroying peoples property..Its not much fun to sit on a 600.00 patio set and it smells like cat urine...Thats just 1of many things destroyed...
GET RID OF THEM...OR TAKE THEM ALL TO YOUR HOUSE AND LET THEM URINATE ALL OVER EVERYTHING YOU AND YOUR NEIGHBORS HAVE....

I get what you mean, I hate when cats spray on porches and such. I'm just saying there has to be a compromise somewhere. TALKING LIKE THIS ISN'T THE WAY TO DO IT THOUGH!!!!!

okay? So, have someone take the ones that don't have a collar and aren't fixed to the animal shelter in Charleston. If ones are deathly sick, THEN have them euthanized. But if there is a chance they deserve one too. Just like people around here who have dogs that run all over the place (i don't complain about that)some people care about the cats, whether they are allowed to own them or not.

Someone please show me that you have more brain power than the small one you are showing and think of a logical/ more ethical approach to this.

I mean how would you feel if someone killed your dog, just because it got loose and pooped in your neighbors yard?(I realize a one-time incident isn't the same as getting things sprayed on all the time) but there are more options than just killing all of them.

If you want to keep cats off your property it is very helpful if you are smarter than they are.

Cats can't read signs nor do they recognize imaginary boundaries so put up a fence.
