I agree Casper is not a good place to live, mainly with children. The schools suck, and unless you like to ski or hunt your not going to find much to do. And the winters here are horrible. The wind is even worst.
casper is a great place to live!!!! I have children , all in school playing sports and doing good . Don't know what your talking about ,maybe you should move to Detroit mi. And have to deal with drive by , drug dealers ,children can't walk to the store alone , shootings in school. Maybe you think your kids should be treated special or something . Very little thing wrong with our schools in Casper . Who don't like to ski ,hunt ,fish, snowmobile, ect.?All kinds of things to do but I think my favorite thing to do is WORK AND GET A PAY CHECK AND PAY MY OWN WAY IN LIFE !!!! The only thing I would agree with is the wind and in reality that is very easy to deal with !!!! I have no complaints and really enjoy living in Casper. Everyone in Casper are nice and good hearted people .

Are the welding jobs still readily available out there? I miss Casper, only lived there a short while but wish I had never left, wven though at the temImcoulsn't wait to leave. Oddly, I agree with all the negative remarks, along with the positive, but still miss it somehow!:). The people were great and I guess that is what makes a good place to live.

No it is not. The past few years, Casper has become full of people that are arrogant, snobbish, cocky, selfish, and are all about looking after NUMBER 1 - themselves.

<quoted text>well hey there ratherbeinmissouri why don't you go to Missouri ! I live in Casper. Lived in Missouri , don't want to trash talk Missouri out of respect for the people that live in Missouri . but I don't know what your talking about . there is nothing in missouri that normal people would want to do ! if you don't like Casper , get out and go to Missouri , don't think anyone here will miss you . Why haven't you already moved ? No jobs Lol
I lived in Missouri.. obviously. Much more to do there and many more decent paying jobs for people that don't work in the oil field. Why am I in Casper? Because this is where my family is and Casper College is one of the cheapest in the nation. Do I plan on moving when I finish school? Obviously.

I agree. I was born and raised here and it used to be very different. I think it's all the transplants from California and Colorado... LOL

Are there a lot of Negros in Casper? Just wondering as around here they have been beating people up who are not black.

I chose to move here four years ago with my family. Best public schools in the nation and extremely low crime rate. Lots of outdoor activities and camps in the summer for kids. Winter holds skiing and sledding adventures, I can't think of any other place I would want to raise my two young boys.

There are lots of people like that when you go into public places, it is more or less a goal of avoiding them....
Compared to a lot of the hundreds of other smaller towns across the USA, Ghost-town has enough to keep all preoccupied and the mountain year round is astonishing.

I love living here. I came from the Florida keys where there wasn't any good jobs, way too expensive to ever buy a house, budget cuts in school, and just over all nothing to do. It's a totally different world here, and it's all for the better for me and my family. My daughter does a lot of classes at the recreation center, we swim indoors all year, and play in the many big parks and awesome playgrounds. We will have enough to buy a house in the near future and it feels great to know that we can do that here, because in south Florida it was not possible. I can't say enough good things about this place. I know it's not for everyone, but if you have a family and are struggling elsewhere, give Casper a chance. It will surprise you.
