Is housing still extremely high priced (specifically rentals)? I lived there most of 2010 and hated a lot of things about Casper (wind, seemed dirty, no good restaurants or good shopping, whole town smelled like fried chicken all the time lol), but I loved the friendly people, the mountain and all the recreational opportunities it offered, and I LOVED the college! Rent was freaking outrageous though-has that changed at all? Also, what was your winter like this year? Is it windy in the summer too (I came in late fall and left in the spring)? I miss it in a way and kind of want to go back but I don't think we could afford it :(. The desolate feeling is what I disliked the most I guess, such a long trip to a "real" mall, etc.

Interesting!
What is the problem with Casper? Dope or religion?
As i think Wyoming being the state in the U.S. with the smallest population what is so difficult in keeping it nice? Americans that don't care?
Wyoming doesnt have the smallest population.Shows how little you know.

Thats the first time I heard that one. That the rent was high in Casper. What do you expect it to be free? You want expensive? Try Mexifornia. You'll see what high rent really is.

No,Illegal aliens from Mexico that dont care.Thats who's ruining California and the rest of the country, like they ruined Mexico, now they're illlegally invading America by the millions and destroying us with their drugs, crime, babies they cant afford and draining our welfare system.Dont let them destroy Wyoming like they are California.Your not even from the USA.What do you care?

I lived in Casper for years and years. I managed to survive the bitter winters and the awful wind. I wouldn't do it again though. I live in the south now where snow never touches the roads and we can travel any time of the year.

I found Casper and most places in Wyoming too isolated. Getting to Denver to a major airport was questionable in the winter months. Everything is overprices as it all has to be trucked in from long distances away.

As the other poster said, it's a prairie town with Casper Mountain it's redeeming factor.

I'm originally from Cali, but lived in Casper for a few years. I'd go back there to live in a heartbeat.

I live in Kentucky now, but leaving Casper was a decision I never should have made.

I agree Casper is not a good place to live, mainly with children. The schools suck, and unless you like to ski or hunt your not going to find much to do. And the winters here are horrible. The wind is even worst.

I have lived in many different states, but Wyoming is the worst. Food prices are a lot higher than even New York. There are not a lot of things to do here, and there is very little culture. For the amount of people living here, there is a lot of litter, and not because of the wind. Everything is dry and brown and just not very pretty. Service and repair people often take advantage because there is not a lot of competition so be careful of that.

Unless you have a good paying job waiting, I would advise against moving here.

I moved my family here from mi about 6 years ago . It was the best thing I could have done . But there is no night life here but if you want a job and a better life for you and your family you will be happy here . IT'S NICE TO HAVE A PAYCHECK EVERY WEEK . The people here are very nice and basically good hearted people , crime rate is low , there are some crime but nothing like it was in mi. GOOD LUCK AND WELCOME TO CASPER !

if that's how you feel we're glad to see you go ! Most people are proud of where they live ! I know I am ! Maybe the problem is it was hard for you to come up with a reason for not working , since there is a lot of jobs in Casper and a lot of opportunity for someone who wants to be productive and don't want to free load off the system!!!!!!!!!! Glad to see you go ! Peace out Kentucky !!
