Give 'em a gun and a badge and they become the Gestapo; it happens more times then not. They think they can act with impunity. If 2 cops can't subdue a 76 year old man without resorting to tazing him, they should rethink their career choice. Good think it wasn't Minneapolis, they would have shot him in the back 3 times -- and 5 while on the ground -- trying to run away. They should be relieved of duty. Period. There's no way their response can be defended.

Ok... lets see if I got this right....

Old dude is on a tractor
Old dude is in a parade (people around)
Old dude hits a car
Old dude doesn't stop
Old dude is probably going to hit and kill people next

If the cops did nothing - "Enough Already" would be yelling WHY Old dude was not stopped before he killed.

Yes, a tazer is harsh. What are the other alternatives - keep in mind he is in a moving tractor. The effects of mace last much longer than the tazer. The effects of bullets... well....

Moral of the story - when asked to stop by a cop, Shut-The-F-Up and STOP!

My guess is, at 76 and on a tractor, he MIGHT NOT HAVE HEARD THEM. Ever think he might have been having a medical problem that prevented him from responding to them? Stunod....

He is on a moving tractor with people all around, and they TASERED him?? How responsible was that?? A TASER makes you lose all control, even of your bowels, and he was tasered on a tractor with people all around. And not any tractor an old, loud tractor, probably with a staight pipe, with a 76 yearpld probably retired farmer who had used this tractor all his life and probably had very little if any hearing left. Today's cops are from from the sharpest pencils in the pack. SQARE ENDED DOWEL RODS would be a more apt anology!!!

I am from the town in question and Joe Friday, you have absolutely no clue. Get a life. These two "law enforcement" officers were pissed because they had to work a weekend shift and took it out on the very first thing that presented itself. One of the officers has been accused of using excessive force in the past. The trouble is, you never see them using it when there's a chance they might not come out on top. Let that old man have a couple of minutes with them and give him a taser and a baseball bat and see how it turns out. You two officers should be ashamed of your actions. The Chief and both officers should be removed from their positions on the force.

All in all, if the old man didn't disobey the officers, then the officers would not have had a reason to shoot him...

Is it OK for a 76 year old guy to be on the street with bad hearing?

I'm 60 and cannot hear at all, guess I better stay away from COPS and parades.

I know a few of the Wyoming cops.....I can see why they would tase a 76 yr old man. Because some are so out of shape the old man would of kicked asz on them. You know when they are 5ft6 and weigh 330lbs they don't move to fast.

Cops...nothing more than bullies and thugs with weapons and badges. The officer was injured on the wrist....Waaaaaaaaaa! I seriously doubt the Glenrock Police SUV was "slammed" into. More like bumped. Way to go Chief...good job on training your uneducated, ignorant thugs on how to taser a 76 yr old man. Yep....you must be really proud of them.
