They should be held just like other people would for leaving the dog in a vehicle for an hour! Parents would have been murdered for leaving a child in the car while they go ate lunch. Go home, leave the dog there and then go back to eat. I bet the humane society took the dog as they seen it in a locked car. Regardless of the weather never leave any living creature in a locked vehicle!

This is the very reason I have trained my dogs that unless my wife or I are right there, NO ONE is to touch them. I feel sorry for anyone who tries.

I live in Glenpool and on Febuary 9th someone opened our back gate and our flat coated retriever AJ is gone. We've posted signs and ads on the net and around the area. My little girls miss their dog, when this happens it is like losing a member of your family. I hope my dog comes/is given back and that the couple in this article gets their dog back too!

That's what you get for leaving you dog in the car. The couple said they don't have children therefore this dog is like their child.....well, would they leave their children in the car? If so, then it's a good thing the dog was taken! Go ahead people, start bashing me...I'm sure you will. But if they are going to claim this dog is like a child, then it should be treated like a child and not left in the car! PS Happy Valentine's Day to the couple!

we arent talking children you are right, it was their pet but they did comment that they didnt have children and it was like their kid. so i have to question why you would leave your "child" in the car.. if you knew you were going to go to lunch then leave the dog at home... people would be making different comments if it was 100 degrees outside and the dog was left in the car..

Should we call DHS if they leave it at home alone too? Your way of thinking lacking common sense.

No, the dog is not a child but we love our dogs!!!! Dogs can be left for short periods of time unattended in a car depending on the outside temperature for obvious reasons that would not pertain to a child. I have not had their type of loss but can't imagine this happening to our family. Dog napping is cruel and heartless. Was the window popped out by the bad guy? or left open a smidge for air by the owners to help the theif out??? Sometimes pet owners will do that not realizing what could happen. Story doesn't say, just that is was opened.

I certainly hope they get their dog back as well but my point is if they left the dog at home as it belonged before they made the decision to go on a Valentines Day lunch, then this wouldn't have happened would it? I am pushing for more responsibility in the owners than I am anything. I agree totally with The Hawk, KOTV apparently needs to layoff more people if they think this is viable news that promotes the health of communication and information in the Tulsa area.

I hate idiots that post stupid things on here....like "you deserve that" and "that's what you get". For everyone that post things like that on any of these sites....I hope that you have to suffer what these families have to go through ten fold. It's not just about pets...any story that involves someone dying or something horrible happening, there is always that one jack ass that has to say...GOOD, GLAD IT HAPPENED! Why is that? Are you really that lonely and miserable??
